Here in the US (and in Canada), fifty cent pieces are minted in very low quantities. They're rare as the proverbial hen's teeth.
How often do they show up in Australia? And by 'they', I mean Australian 50 cent pieces, not US or Canadian 50 cent coins.

They are the standard currency so we have them in abundance.
Reason?

We make money handling machines, but all of our peripherals (like coin sorters, dispensers) are built by third-parties. In this particular case, their sorter accepts AUD 50 cent pieces, but they don't have a corresponding dispenser. So now I have to concoct this bizarre entitity in software - a dispenser that can never dispense.
