Enjoy

Hi, and welcome to the latest Forge World Newsletter. In this issue we are focussing on some of the big shows Forge World will be attending over the next few weeks.

Games Day Los Angeles is the first of three US Games Days Forge World will be attending this year. The event is being held on Saturday May 31st at the Ontario Convention Center, Ontario, California, from 10am till 7pm that evening. http://www.games-workshop.com/news....003.htm
Forge World boss Tony Cottrell will be hosting one of his very popular seminars, showing off new concepts and models, as well as taking questions from the audience. As usual this will be run in conjunction with Jervis Johnson from Specialist Games.
Games Day will of course be an opportunity for you to buy any Forge World models you may want. The lads in Forge World have been working very hard over the last few weeks to pack up a massive selection of models and kits and getting it all shipped over to Los Angeles for Games Day.
Forge World try to use big shows like these to show off new models and designs that we are working on, or have just completed and are about to release. Games Day Los Angeles will be no exception. www.forgeworld.co.uk/Gamesdayla.htm
Take a closer look at the Imperial Thunderbolt Fighter here, www.forgeworld.co.uk/thunderbolt.htm This new incarnation of the Imperium’s premier heavy fighter aircraft was the work of Will Hayes, the man responsible for the Necron Pylon and the Warhound Titans. For a single seat fighter the Thunderbolt is a surprisingly large model. It is significantly larger than say, a Lightning or Eldar Nightwing for example. I find the shape of the Thunderbolt pleasingly aggressive and purposeful, with the cockpit deeply recessed into the fuselage and that long, long nose. With four Autocannon and two Lascannon nestling in the nose, the Thunderbolt should be able to pack quite a punch in games of 40K too. Not only that, but the Thunderbolt has four under wing hard points for even more weapons.
The next of the very popular Chaos Dreadnought range has just been completed, (Yes, we do have more planned.), and we just took delivery of the first few castings of the new Alpha Legion Dreadnought earlier this week. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/alphalegion.htm
To combat these foul Chaos abominations, we have promised you a Grey Knights Dreadnought. So here it is, a conversion kit for the plastic Space Marine Dreadnought, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/greyknight.htm

These three new models are available to pre-order now on the Forge World web store at http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html for release week commencing 30th June, but will be available in strictly limited numbers at Games Day Los Angeles, Games Day Baltimore and Conflict London.
If you would like to reserve an order o pick up at any of these events we are happy to arrange this for you. Please email your list along with your name to us with one of the following titles, ‘RESERVATION – Games Day Los Angeles’, ‘RESERVATION – Games Day Baltimore’ or ‘RESERVATION – Conflict London’. All reservations will be held until 2pm at Games Day Los Angeles and Conflict London, and 2pm on the Saturday at Games Day Baltimore.

That’s all for today.
Thanks,

Ewen Little.
Forge World.

Cheers

Chris

:D hehe.. Just looked at this in my mail and was thinking of posting it myself.... Thunderbolt looks nice, very brutal and hard looking... I'm not quite so keen on the Grey Knights Dreadnought though, even so detail-packed as it is! :;): ..Guess it'll look great painted...

My one complaint:No Epic or BFG... :L

I just saw the letter too, no Epic :{ ... I hope this is not " Jervis said not to release any F/W Epic until after E-A is out.",  kind of thing !?   ???

Hi!

I wouldn't get too disappointed FW releases for epic are at a much slower pace than those for the main games, also many will get held back until after the summer conventions.

That makes sense, it's not like I don't have anything to paint.  Exodites, Orks, 'Nids, Tau, terrain, etc., etc.  With my slow production pace, I'll be stacking up E-A models and still be painting stuff from E40K and F/W ... :{   Doh !!! :o

there is plenty of time for epic to be released.  You never know they might do a collection of epic stuff as a release like the salamander stuff.
I liked the Grey knight dread but better when its painted

While you guys have your 1 million points competition, my gaming group has its own insane race...

First to have their own body weight in painted miniatures!
(standardised to 90kgs)
Its the painted bit thats difficult :D

Yes, Darkone, in my War Room, I'm surrounded by painted armies in display cases and arrayed in clear containers, on my work tables/gaming board, is all my inventory of work-in-progress !!!    At this point Tas, my weight in Epic models, is a long way off, maybe Ginger & Kitty's weight - they are both tall ...   :D

The bad news is that with all those plastic figs, it takes so much more to get to the required mass...

The good news is that even between them Kitty & Ginger dont add up to more than 180 pounds (minus implants of course) so the target is that little bit smaller :;):

Hi!

Hmm..would you beleive me if I told you I could probably be close to the 90kg standard in epic minis? I need to weigh it properly, but I know I easily have over 100 pounds, although that includes the cases. The reason I know this is that when I moved to PR they need to weigh the frieght sent for charging purposes and I was curious to know how much my "hobby" boxes weighed. OF course that was one box and not al my epic stuff is in it, but plastic boxes that I use for storgage aren't that heavy empty. I have ten plastic cases that have metal only and those weigh like crazy. I guess I'll "borrow" a scale from work and find out for myself.

I don't have a specific case to display miniatures in. I do have three seven foot tall bookcases though and right in front of the books are several shelves of painted miniatures including the Gargant gallery! ?:D

The shelf packed with painted Gargants attracts an incredible amount of attention too! The only thing about is popular is my painted BFG Ork Space Hulk.

The shelf full of 1967 Jordanian microarmor infantry and support weapons is also popular.

People I wouldn't expect to take an interest often do to my surprise.

If I count all my painted Eldar plus all of the other odd stuff, I'm a winner with easily 90kg or 100lb plus of painted minis.

Of course, Tuffskull would probably outweigh all of us if he didn't sell his minis so often.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
