(I know that a topic similar to this was once posted by me to the original epic40k.com forums, but as there is a lot of talk about digital cameras, I thought I would post it again to help people out)
I was once asked how I got so "close" to my miniatures, the answer is actually I don't
I usually set my camera quality settings to "high" or 1600x1200 on the assumption I want a 300-600 pixel wide image for the forum or the website.
These images have been "downsampled", but you will get the concept (I hope).
Firstly here is the original image (remember this has been "shrunk" to show the whole picture, in reality it is 1600 pixels wide!
As you can see what I am actually trying to take a photograph of is the Hydra
Here is what I would "crop"
therefore I would then get the final image (this is actual size)
hope you find it useful.

Thanks Jimbo, I'll have to remember how to do that.
How many megapixles is you Digi Cam?
Cheers
Chris
