OK, this came up on the GW boards, and it now puzzles me. The Slaughter cruiser has strength 8 weapon batteries and 2 lances to each side, and prow guns. But, most of the models look identicle to the Murder, with weapons batteries all over.
Why doesnt the model have lance bays on each side? How do people make up their Slaughter cruisers?
Strength 8 seems too much for a single weapons pallet on each side, but if you put two there is no space for the lances.

Maybe you could model some lances onto the batteries so it has 1 1/2 weapon batteries and a lance turret. Do you know what I mean?

There are two "usual" Slaughter configurations: the majority seems to model it with two lance deck pallets per broadside, the minority goes with one weapon pallet and one lance pallet. I prefer the second version for clarity, as I thing the Slaughter looks over-lanced with 2 pallets per broadside... However, build this little Cad as you like it! Hehehe I got four: Attila, Alboin, Alarich and Arbogast ?

I really need to get this game. I just ordered a few ships and bits. With any luck, I'll have the game by months end.

Do you have an opponent set up, or will it be a 'guaranteed win' ?

I am picking up a vengance and a couple of others. I cant remember off hand. I picked up the expansoin box for the vengence. I also bought a gun spruce, some broadsid weapons, Turret weapons and prow weapons. Oh, and all the various figureheads that were available. Right now I am concentrating on what the ships are and how they are made. They seem to be modular, which I really like. I am looking into building some stuff for BFG. Some stations and various things. If and when I can get the actual game I will have a better understanding about the nuances of the game. Is there a place I can find some begginers stuff? I couldn't find anything here.

Interesting. What type of stuff would be useful for you? Gothic is gaining popularity, and if there is something that you need then it is likely that others will too. Give me a wish list and I will get working on it. Any suggestions would be great. Any volunteers of articles would be even better!

Wow.. thats quite a lot of wishes.. some fantastic ideas though I have to say. The Galaxy map is one that particually appeals to me.
The 3D model idea also sounds good, though it might be quite hard to do, what with the incredible details of the Gothic models- ie, no simple flat surfaces!!

Well, bossman said to give him a wish list.
I don't know. the ships shouldn't be that hard. The tyranid, would but not the others. The ships seem to be designed modular. That would allow you to build certain sections and distribute them among other ships. Just alot of copying and pasting. You would just need a good 3D program and one insane individual. It would take some time to do. Probably would go faster if you had a laser scanner.

Yeah true about the modualar stuff.. you just need to construct one lance, one weapon battery, and one launch bay model and then you can mirror, copy and paste to your hearts content to get you Imperial flett.. same with Chaos I 'spose.

Exactly. I will know more as soon as I get my first BFG box. Shouldn't be long now.
