I recently came across the rules for Mobile Frame Zero, and was... intrigued. LEGOs and wargaming? Is there any better marriage?

The combat rules are simple, though they [seem to - still working on getting a game in] offer plenty of complexity. The army building is equally simple, though the scoring system needs work. Nominal scale is 7 plates/~20mm. In all it's a good solid foundation for gamers who like tinkering. And, LEGOs!

After doing some searching, I came across the RU15-6 'Flanker', an excellent build using limited and easily obtained parts. Of course I needed to give it some upgrades, so I played around with it in the Lego Digital Designer software until I was satisfied. Upon receiving the physical bricks, I found there were some spots I could improve or reduce brick count on, so I did some more fiddling. Right now this frame can be fielded in any legal configuration, and consists of 231 components.

2x Artillery Systems (MLRS), Movement system (Jetpack), Comms/Sensor System (C3 Array), and a One Shot Missile.

Close Combat System (Energy Sword), Defense System (Shield Generator), Movement System (Jetpack), and Comms/Sensor System (C3 Array)

Now I seem to have transposed the counts on a couple of components when ordering, and forgotten entirely to get three others, so the colors aren't perfect - something I can remedy now I'm ready to buy the remaining frames.

I grabbed a copy of the rules myself (though since my Lego is at my parents' three provinces away I haven't yet built any frames). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. :)

If your stuff is anything like mine, Spectrar, it'll be unsuited to mecha. But already owning it counts for a lot. ;)

It's good stuff for terrain. Also brikwars, the rules to witch are worth reading for the prose alone.

This just in: verifying LEGO orders is boring.

I am shocked, I say shocked, by that revelation.
