Bunch of Ordinance for Battlefleet Gothic. Mostly Shapeways, but Assault Boats are standard Specialist Games.

I got the Shapeways stuff in 'black strong and flexible' format to avoid need for undercoat. It is fairly porous though, so I had to put on a thin coat of PVA mixed with water to seal it before painting. I might try the "detailed" or "ultradetailed" material for bigger items.

Pic below is Fighters and bombers in process. In front is a Fighta Bomba stand, and behind that a Narwhal Bomber. Was originally going with 2 bombers and 3 fighta bombas per base, but reality set in about the amount of work that would involve with drilling/pinning etc!! 20 Fighta Bomba stands, 16 other Fighters, 34 Bombers, and 12 Assault boats. The idea is to provide enough units for pretty much any pair of fleets for big games. Bases are just 20mm plastic squares from Litko. Had some wire lying around for the stands, but paper clips would also work. The Shapeways models also come with stands but figured they would look better on the thinner wire stands.

Pic below is them all ready for spray undercoat. Took a solid evening to get them to this stage, so not too bad. Being 3D printed, Shapeways stuff needs no cleaning up. In the middle are standard GW assault boats, which took a little more work. 16 stands of fighters in the left front are actually cut down Shapeways Fighta Bombas as I realised I didn't need quite so many of them for the orks.

After I had superglued them, I also added a blob of araldite (super strength epoxy resin glue) where the wire meets the base, and where the wire meets the ship. Just to make sure they will stand being picked up and handled repeatedly!

And finished. Front left is the Ork Fighta Bombas, then two lots of fighters to right. Behind on left is assault boats, then bombers. They all paint up quickly and easily.

Lastly two of the Torpedo sets - I love these!

that's pretty good detail! What's the price differential?

Abouit $10 US for 36 of the Fighta bombas, $14 US for the Torpedoes. Pretty cheap though minimum shipping to New Zealand was $20 US. That's just how it goes though.
