Yeah, everywhere I see Silfor it just makes that bit of difference between great and awesome. Gotta get some eventually.

These look awesome mate, really nice work on the minatures, Great theme aswell love the crusaders and the history that goes with them. Kingdom of heaven is a great movie.

Very nice paint jobs. I always wondered how people painted such clean minis with dark recesses.

Are you able to give us an insight on how to do it as it does not look like you use inks.

How do you get such clean flat colours that look so thickly painted?

Well, i start with a black undercoat, then very carefully paint on the base colours, leaving the black showing in all the recesses. I then gradually highlight all the colours, until i eventually 'over' highlight them. So at a distance, you can see the miniature 'pop'.

This is the first army that ive used this method, as i would normally use inks and gradually try to blend the colours to a highlight. I think it has worked quite well with these, and i reckon it works well with smaller scale figures as well.
