I'm trying to seperate my projects out by scale, as befits the forum structure, so this will become the repository for all my 28mm stuff.

I'm currently distracted by LotR, which is in turn a distraction from Eldar, Skaven and Vanaheim Air Cav, in that order.

I'm starting with my Easterlings, who have always been my favorite Evil force. Next will probably be my Rivendell Elves. I'm really shooting for tabletop level here; I want playable, painted forces that don't take forever to complete.

Not completely happy with him. Any suggestions?

What did you use on the bronze to shade it? Devlan Mudd?

Yeah, I chose that because it is the darkest, and will define the armor best. I've seen Gryphonne onver gold, and it looks lacklustre.

Been considering dusting off the LoTR stuff as well … hmm

Getting there, but i'm not convinced by the blue shield boss, at least not in that shade.

A quick light silver dry brush on extreme edges of the bronze might lift the contrast a bit, this should help with the blue and red, as currently the same wash being applied to the whole thing has sort of muted together the colours a bit too much.

Round two? Boss went from Mordian with Devlan wash to Enchanted and Mithril with a Badab Wash. Added Mithril Drybrush to Brass.

Yep, recon that's an improvement :)

You could try Badab in the deep recesses of the armor. It'd have to be selective though, putting it over everything will darken it too much I think.

Necromunda storage tank I painted up before our game last night. Still have the base left to do, but I'm going to get some cheap craft shop acrylic instead of using a ton of Chaos Black. Who knows when I'll be able to get another pot...

I have two armies (Epic and Warmaster) to finish before Adepticon, but I've taken time out to make another shotgunner, since I had a Juve go to a full ganger and only had one shotgun-armed model. I don't remember showing the first, so I incuded him too. They're real simple conversions, just Space Marine Scout shotguns grafted to Cadians, with some greenstuff to fill the gaps.

WIP of a Heavy Plasma Gunner. I've been slightly stuck on how to add one to my gang; my best idea has been to buy a Sentinel and hack up the Plascannon off that, but the $30 tag and amount of work has been a real barrier.

Then on Thursday I saw the FW Space Marine Heavy Weapons at the bunker. Perfect. Half the price and I get a Lascannon and Heavy Bolter to boot. What's more, the Missile Launcher arms from the Cadian Heavy Weapons need just a little bit of work to fit - I widened the stance with a shim of green stuff and will need to do some work to integrate the Guardsman's trigget into the weapon. Right now the gun is just stiky tacked on.
