Looking nice! I have a bunch of Japs as well, but mine are a tad smaller - 1:3000

They are nice. Mine are quite a bit smaller, though: 1:6000. Never looked into Micronauts, but in VaS, Jap torps are nasty.

@Spectar Ghost: In "Micronauts - the Game" too. They deal out ca 50% more damage than alllied torpedoes and have a much longer range :)
"Micronauts - the Game" seems to be an in-between of the beer&prezel style of "Victory at Sea" and the more complicated "General Quarters 3". Not to forget "Seekrieg" where it seems you need a degree in engineering to play the game :D

Aside from carrier decks, most IJN decks were dark grey. This may help, though I'm unsure if it's 100 percent accurate. This may also be useful. I don't think you'll find your answer there, but http://www.combinedfleet.com is an excellent source for general information on the IJN, and has an extensive set of Tabular Records of Movement.

The tabular record of movement indicates every major repair was carried out a Sasebo. While not definitive, this would indicate that the Sasebo Grey is the most likely hull color. As far as I know Japanese Fleet Carriers never sported the disruptive camoflauge the light carriers sometimes did.

Hull color isn`t the question. The paint sheme of the flight deck is the problem :( I have seen plain gry with some white markings, grexy with japanese flag (with white or ony the red sun) on the forward deck and wood colored.

Light colored wood. The only Japanese carriers with a metal flight deck were the Shinano and Taiho. the wooden ones were not painted, though I'd find it likely they were treated in some other way.

Edit - Here's a late thirties (after her modernization, in other words) shot from above. I can't say for sure her deck wasn't repainted after this, but it's a start.
