Made it seems to promote the game in the US. Everything's too close together for my tastes, but fun nonetheless.

Im confused, the the 'making of' clip on you tube it shows you 1 of the soldiers in z-brush then immediately tells you they were all made by hand?

Its also a shame the commentary and general presentation style is so cringe worthy and that they have to use so many camera effects...

Edit: oh aside from that it actually looks very well done/realistic.

I beleive its not a real making of doc, rather something they cooked up as a further ad. No way were all those chaps carved by hand :)

Beautiful modelling regardless of how it was made.  But Yes, like some of the G/W SM battle scenes, everything looks like Bellowoods, Normandy or Saipan.  Or even a ACW battle ...  No support by fire positions, no suppressive fires, etc., just a big rugby style "scrum" !   But it is dramatic which is what should sell the product. In my mind, the last thing I would do is go into close combat with a race that is twice my size and has teeth like a very large tiger or lion ...  I'd want to take those beasts out at as long a range as I could get.  With as heavy a weapon as I could get ...  Almost reminds me of the "disapointing" SST movie ...

Ah but L4 the bad tactics there were to prolong the war indefinatively for a host of societal control reasons ala 1984 :)
