Has anyone seen Jin-Roh? ?It's a rather dystopic view of Japan in the early (alternate) 1950s, where labor and civil unrest have resulted in urban terrorism that the typical police are unable to control.

So, a special Police Force was created to combat the rioters/terrorists. ?They are heavily armed and armored personally, as well as equipped with WW2 German vehicles. ?Most of the firearms I have identified as being either StG44 assault rifles, the broomhandle Mausers, and MG42s for really heavy work.

A few pictures: http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http

The local FoW players are busting out the freaky stuff from GearKrieg, Luftwaffe 1946 etc., and I want to really scare the crap out of them with some unstoppable infantry that's not zombies.

(My inspiration is something from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac9m8_NVYvY )

So, does anyone make 15mm infantry that looks like these guys, or do I need to learn how to sculpt?

Jin-Roh's secret police armor was great in the movie.  I don't think there is anything I could recall that look similar except for

40k 3rd edition IG storm troopers

Maybe look for the epic:A storm troopers but thats like 6mm.

I doubt sculpting would that hard if you use any normal helmeted soldier but it would be time consuming unless you mold it.

Eureka Link

Eureka mininatures has details photos of the entire GZG 15mm infantry line.  If there something clsoe you may find it in there.

You may also consider head swaps.

My first guess is look at the UN heavy troops or the Japanese corporate troops

Actually, GW's Kasrkin with gasmasks are pretty close, but I have a better version for 28/30mm: ?Infinity Veteran Kazaks

I guess I could try German troops in gas masks as a starting point...

[edit:  Never mind.  Eureka 15mm Sci-fi German Stormtroopers. will do quite nicely for my purposes.

Problem solved.  Now I just need to get the cash for about 120 of the little buggers.  Mwahahahahah! ]

Yeah, I did a conversion.  Those figs are about $0.57US each, and with the numbers I need to build a Panzergrenadier Company it works out to about $60US.  Plus a bajillion SdKfz251 halftracks (well, 60 or so, of various types), which is going to be the expensive part of the army.  Except I don't need that many:  We usually play 1500 point games of FoW, and to play with Waffen SS Fearless Veterans I only get 1250 points.  I roughly get an armored Panzergrenadier company HQ and 2 platoons (about 65 men), with just enough points left over to bring a platoon of 3 Panzer 3M or maybe a single Tiger 1 (with the 50% cost increase for the armor the infantry wears, which may not be enough points.)

I defined the armor's effect as forcing the attacking player to roll firepower to kill the infantry, if the infantry fail their 3+ 'infantry save' (ie, the 'Lost Battalion' infantry count as being in bulletproof cover all the time).  Since most weapons don't have better than a 4+ Firepower, that makes it very hard to kill the infantry, and makes airstrikes the biggest threat to the infantry.  That may need to go to a 2/3rds cost increase, which would relegate 'Lost Battalion' to support status, but I'll have to playtest it.
