Excellent aircfraft there.

I can't belive you did the rigging on a DH2.  Just painful thinking about it.    :O

What rules does your club use?

Thanks

Regarding the DH2, (and other A/c) the rigging is actually a lot easier than it seems. I go for general look rather than the purist approach, so I take quite a long length of fine black nylon thread and wrap it round each strut moving diagonally on to the next point. A dab of glue keeps it in position and gentle tension to keep it taut.

The rules are my own, but include some ideas drawn from various other sets including Richtofen's war, Blue Max, Aces high, Paragon etc. which I synthesised into a simple set of rules that capture the feel rather than the mechanics of flying and aerial warfare. For example I considered various ways of sticking A/c on poles but gave up in the end, so I just use a coloured height marker by each model, which seems to work Ok.

Where did you get your mats from? I have been using "Battle Masters" mats for years as I have not been able to find anything more suitable with the right sized hexes for 1/72 scale models.

The mats belong to a guy in our club named Larry.  I belivee he has a plotter at home and printed these himself. I od know they rae 5" hexes.

I will ask him for more details.

I do know that Holtz Arts are doing some 5" trench mats

Check out the March 15th new artilce for detials.
