I may pair that down more to only 3 (high-medium-low) to make it even easier.
Thanks mate!

Luis, Ive been thinking about this one a bit more of late(I'm re-reading "Goshawk Squadron" at the moment and just snagged a copy of "Wings of War" off ebay!  :D )

I want a system where I can fly a few aircraft at the against another player doing the same. ?Reading C-Eagles, it would seem that that would be a big ask. ?Is that a correct assumption? ?If so have you got any other recommendations?

PS Those 1/144 Wings of war aircraft are darned hard to find!

@Tas, there were still some of those WoW boxed sets around the last time I visited the Freak Triangle of Barcelona (8 hobby stores in a 200 sqwuare metre area). Would you like me checking to see if I find the wings of war models?

@CC, GREAT REPORT!! I loved it!! :D I am already too deep into ancients right now to enter even an other gaming system, but it certainly looks cool!

Cheers,

Xavi

Tas,

If you want a few planes to fight a few planes then I suggest Algy! Also good for solo I believe

Algy

Card driven iniative so no "blind" movement.  Decent mechanics.

My only complaint is slight lost of detail between aircraft.

Canvas eagles in best to play one plane per person.  If you are expericned you can play two but it will be harder.

The wings of war planes are starting to be restocked across the gaming stores here.

If you want I can buy you some here.

I would, thanks VERY MUC Xavi.  Though I fear the international postage costs.  They are rather crippling from the US right now

Maybe we can do an exchange with those 1/144th planes I wanted from Australia.

You can PM me for details.   :D

What size are the hexes?
Are you happy ith it?

Ok lots of questions.

First of all Tas,

I have six wings of war planes purchased for you ready to send when you give me the word.  They wither go downunder or back to the store.  So let me know.

There are 3 Albatros DVs, in all three varients, and 3 British Camels, in 2 varients.  (One heart and two black and white stripes).

Please let me know.  PM for me details of cost.

Second,

In the pics those are Holtz mats.  I think they are very good.  I have the Eurpeon fields one with 3inch hexes on one side and 4" on the other.  for WWI in 1/144 the 3" is more than enough.  The best thing about them is they line up end to end so you can get several to form a large playing surface.  I have two 4' by 6'.  One is enought for most WWI playing.  He is a little slow on getting the orders throught, but a good place to purchase.

for completeness there are also 1/144 scale models from Reviresco

Reviresco

This is where I am ordering my metal versions.

have fun with it.
