I have a mate that is keen on Napoleonic Naval Warfare, as am I. I've begun reading Patrick O'Brian's Jack Aubrey series. It has inspired me and my opponent. So I'm looking for a nautical game set during the early 19th century. Preferably the models will be of a 10mm scale and as I am, as well as my fellow Tactical Commanders are used to, very detailed. Otherwise why else paint them? So I have been searching but to no avail. Any help from the historical gamers or possibly someone who chanced upon a game that fits my criteria may help steer me in the right direction. I thank you in advance, -Christopher |

Osprey's Fighting Sail is a good place to start. It is good for people who don't want to get into the usual rivet counting of the period's rules. I have a review of it on these very boards somewhere, or you can just see it here: http://bloodandspectacles.blogspot.com/ ... rgame.html |

It seems that there are tons of rules for a very reasonable price but no ready made miniatures that I can find. I'd love to play it however, I'm afraid my modeling skills are not up to par to completely make a small miniature ship. |

Not sure if this will be of interest and your research may already have thrown it up, but here goes: Capitan Games are about to launch a 10mm scale rule set called Full Captain, the rules are on kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/studiocapitan/post-captain-10mm-tactical-naval-rules-plus-ships They also do a range of ships and accessories here: http://shop.capitangames.com/index.php?id_category=324&controller=category&id_lang=7&p=2 http://shop.capitangames.com/index.php?id_category=311&controller=category&id_lang=7 Wargames vault list a whole load of Napoleonic naval rules here: http://www.wargamevault.com/browse.php?keywords=naval&filters=0_0_40005_0&x=0&y=0&author=&artist=&pfrom=&pto= For short fun games I use: Galleys and Galleons http://www.wargamevault.com/product/154156/Galleys-and-Galleons Kiss Me Hardy https://toofatlardies.co.uk/product-category/kiss-me-hardy/ I also use 1/2400th Tumbling Dice ships, which are ‘ready to go’ but they may be on the small side for what you want http://www.tumblingdiceuk.com/product-category/12400-naval/napoleonic-naval If you can still find copies, there is always GWs ‘Trafalgar’ which got good reviews at the time of release: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/41198/trafalgar |

Sails of Glory may also have some stuff you would like. It is designed more for 1-on-1 type battles using the Flightpath system. |
