Lovely army! and you've put a load of work into the shields especially. Looks awesome. Just how I imagine the Brigantines would have looked.

Have you played with them yet? Just curious to know how well they do - I'm trying to decide which army to get for WMA myself.
Regards,
Reaver

cheers!   it has taken me ages to finish this army!  ive used this army in a few games and they can be very good when used properly, they are unforgiving though if you make a mistake.

Make sure the warbands are brigaded to the maximum 4 units and protect the flanks with cavalry.  Chariots i keep in reserve until ive pinned the legions in place then attack the flanks or (even better) the rear.

thats the theory anyway!

cheers :)

Very nice, Yorkie, I've got a pair of armies wating in the wings, in 6mm scale rather than 10mm; I only hope to manage to get them done some day.
Nice look to the army - the close up pic at the end of the section on this army looks great.
Nice work on the other stuff seen in the blog too. The Sdkfz is fantastic, and the DRM  and FoW are grand too.
Not so sure about the 1:1 chap at the bottom, but his uniform is well painted  :;):  :p

cheers lads,

@vanvlak, i bought the figs before i discovered Baccus 6mm, or i would have gone with 6mm myself.  my next ancient armies are going to be either greeks/persians, or dark ages but either way they will be 6mm.

oh the 1:1 chap at the end....handsome devil i think you will agree. :D

Hmmmm, dunno, the eyes could've been painted better...    :p

I like 10mm scale models myself, but the 6mm chaps by Bacchus ARE nice - and greeks/persians are just what I own: 300 Spartans (and a few friends) and slightly more (but not 1 million) Persians. Still looking for a 6mm Rhino...  :p
Anyway, very pleased with the Bacchus stuff.

Im working on my early imperial romans at the moment, the problem i have is that im not very good at painting freehand details, so, does anyone make shield decals that will fit 10mm pendraken romans?

I can't be certain, but IIRC Veni,Vidi,Veci shield transfers will fit Pendraken minis. Available here: VVV
