Wow - I just spent a ton on lizardmen - time to return them me thinks. Any ideas whether existing units can be used? |

Lizardmen have all evacuated into space on a giant stone ship |

Are you sure that means they are gone? I thought that meant they would return, while races like Bretts who stuck around are definitely gone. I also heard that Orcs never managed to escape. |

Gwydion True - question is if they manage to actually turn it all around into something new and fun or just cut down on diversity but keep the outdated ruleset... And I agree on pricing. It is the better policy. The other one seems to work too though but I, like you, prefer a moderate pricing. It would also cut down on recasts... I think? |

think the lizards are meant to be gone-gone, fled the world to free up shelf space for space marines in many many colours |

From the rumors I'm reading, I'm excited! I think most of the changes are good ideas and hope they will be implemented. I haven't played WH in a very, very long time, but this may get me back into it. Seems like GW is actually trying to change things for once, instead of just rehashing the same old over and over again. I for one appreciate that, even if it may not work out. But, again, there are only rumors at this time. And, as for armies "disappearing", you all realize that you can still play previous editions with your precious armies, right? There is no universal law that says you can't. So, if lizardmen aren't represented in 9th, so what? Doesn't mean you're miniatures suddenly disappear as well. Doesn't mean you've wasted one shiny penny on them. |

It does if the only place you get to play is in the GW shop. I for one don't have a warhammer club near me or friends that play: I play in the GW shop and there is no hope in hell getting the store manager to let us play a game that is technically unsupported. |

Hey Guys, Don't play 28mm fantasy, but there's a ton of rules sets out there for that niche do a little searching and don't drink the Kool-Aid. Tournament guys you're probably SOL. Pat |

I understand that, that's a GW store and those are the rules (I stay away from those places); but the closest game stores here will allow just about any games to be played, so if anyone around here had the bug to play 8th or 7th or 6th, or 1st, they can do it. There are other shops than just pure GW ones. I sympathize with your plight, but it still doesn't change what I said--generally, previous edition miniatures won't magically disappear overnight, and the older games will always exist and can be played. |

Pat OnePageRules seems to be a fairly popular replacement set for WHFB. https://onepagerules.wordpress.com/ Too much dice for my taste, but it's a viable option. But, again, if 9th edition comes out as most of the rumors are showing, I might take that plunge again. There's also Kings of War (soon to be in it's second edition). From Mantic Games. It's got a very strong following as well. |

I hear that it might actually be a skirmish game within the core game (as a separate game almost) - so they are doing the best of both worlds! |

Pretty sure it's a complete replacement |
