Ireggular dice

Are there any games that use irregular shaped dice to create odd probability distributions?

I'm not talking D10's here, but where one face is larger then an another.

I would have to ask whether there are any such dice available . . . The closest I have seen are seven sided dice.

However this also raises the question whether there is a direct relationship between the surface area and the chances of that side ending face down on the ground, and thus of the smaller opposite face showing on top.

I've seen and played games that used 'average' dice - a d6 with 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5

I reckon these are pretty 'irregular', but also very pretty :) .

However, I agree with Elsmore that making an "average" 12 sided dice (or other numbers) might be a much more practical and relevant idea. The real question being what numbers should be present?

These could be "average values"
eg
    12 sided :- 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6
    10 sided :- 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6
    8 sided :- 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6
etc.

Or you could go for high values, low values, extreme values etc, which can then be used in various dice combinations to provide the number ranges required (to represent elite, proffesional, raw, rabble etc).

The point here being that with a bit of laser engineering, you could provide something very practical and IP free . . .

D6 are very IP free already and you can't IP a game system. Just tossing little ideas in my head because I don't have time for more (raised $100k in 10hours today on indiegogo, sadly not for my brilliant new sci-fi game)
