Necomunda can still tnk somehow and than the whoel thing will be dead again (specialist games that is.)

Hi!

This is true, but at least for me it means I don't have to wait for its release to continue with some projects. ;)

The Reddit thread was made by the game designer who does not work for GW anymore. So it's nothing officially from GW.

This is very true, and I realised after posting that I might have given the wrong impression.

But even unofficial GW things were almost non-existent: famous names like Gav Thorpe concealed their identity in online fora like for years, and very few people who worked there had blogs or websites that they discussed GW things candidly on whilst they were still involved (at least as far as a semi-competent internet user like myself was aware :P). James may no longer be a salaried worker, but he is still working with them as a freelancer, and talking about rules designs in a way that hasn't been connected with GW for quite some time.

I don't think GW would ever need a Reddit page anyway, with their dedicated media presence. :)

I also suspect that Necromunda won't fall apart (though it may be what a new market wants rather than what the old fans want), so we will hopefully at least get some new AT rules!

Necromunda isn’t doing too well in my neck of the woods. The old fogeys like me aren’t buying it because it isn’t the same game as the original version, and the younger folks don’t seem to be drawn to a game with just two factions. I also hear it isn’t even close to being balanced.

Maybe it will pick up once a few more gangs get released, but I wouldn’t be surprised if only a few more gangs make it into production.

GW is baffling sometimes. They did alright with the blood bowl rerelease; they didn’t change very much from the last version and it sold well. Then they release a one-off virtual copy of the original Necromunda in shadow wars: Armageddon with tons of awesome multilevel terrain, but didn’t support it. Then they rerelease actual Necromunda, but it’s completely different from the original game. Why couldn’t they have included the same terrain that came in the SW:A box?

It’s like they think the thing that sells a game is the name and nothing else.

Hopefully this won’t affect their release of other specialist games in the future, but it probably will. The same thing happened with that dreadfleet game that came out after they successfully rereleased space hulk.

I bought about five copies of Blood Bowl for me and my friends, and three copies of Necromunda. What's baffling to me is that they made this scenery but didn't make it modular. I know that nowadays they wouldn't do the cardboard terrain like in the old days but I thought we'd at least see a re-invisioning of the bulkheads?

I would have thought that they'd realise that a proper Epic re-launch with full plastic kits would be a much more profitable thing than a half-way house game just re-using the old Titan name.

I notice on the Black Library site they're releasing a novel called 'Imperator: Wrath of the Omnissiah' in April focussing on the Imperator Casus Belli (incidentally I believe this was what they named the Imperator in some of the fiction and battle reports in WD around the Titan Legions era). The novel is stated to be an Adeptus Titanicus novel.

Suggestive that AT will be released around that time if they're putting out a tie-in novel? It sounds promising to me that they'll release an Imperator early on if they're focusing the tie-in on one too.

Hi!

Hope so. I want to get my hand on those rules. :)

Yeah, it seems to me that more people are using the Figures for other games then Nekromunda. BUt maybe Christmas pushed some copies. Intereted to see how it develops.
Many in the german community are pissed at the way GW pushes books at them. You have 3 books already for 3 Factions. That's insane for a skirmisher.

I didn't know that about the 3 books and 3 factions. That's why I don't play 40k with any regularity anymore. Someone bought me a gift of the Genestealer cult book. Less than a year later, and its useless for gaming.

I didn't buy any of the other books in the past year or so. With the money saved from that I could get a few 6mm armies, or a table of terrain instead of books that go out of fashion.

I don’t think i can really defend the “gang war” book format - does seem like a cash grab.

Bit to be clear:

Box game has new rules for Goliath and Esher. )These are much more faction specific than the old rules.)

“Legacy rules” are up online free for the 4 other core gangs.

Gang war one is basically the campaign and 3D rules. Same format as the old BB.

Gang war 2 is scheduled for feb. Definitely features new style Orlocks. Heavy hints dropped that it will feature genestealer and chaos cults. May have another core faction(s) but bit hazy at the moment.

Make of that as you will. Must admit i have been surprised at the luke warm reaction here. Though many of my epic buddies play infinity in a big way so not interested in another skirmisher.

No you ar right i made it look worse then it is. Though I think taking out the campaign rules and rules for vertical scenery was complete bullshit.

I have no problem with them releasing the gang specific rules together with the miniatures. Just that the prices are absurdly high.

Well, I still hope it all will be reasonable successfull so they don't cancel AT. :spin

Regarding the AT novel. Didn't they say it will be end of 2018 at the earliest? So I am not sure they will release the novel together with the game.

By the time this game reaches the GW stores, Armies will actually be using real world titan war engines !

Would be sad if AT lived or died by the success of necromunda? Did it ever sell more than about four copies?

The latest version? Seemed to do well with the “oldhammer” community.

AT approx date confirmed at FW weekender : Autumn 2018.

Further info : http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2018/02/adeptus-titanicus-information.html

If you look through other teaser minis from the weekender it looks like there is plenty in the pipeline for Necomunda - doesn't look like its going anywhere for the foreseeable...
