I've bought two copies of Blood Bowl, one for me, one for a friend, and the Deathzone add on. I'll buy more and the resin star players as they come out. These are the first GW things I've bought apart from the occasional paint in... 4 years?

I am guessing there are thousands of people like me who are suddenly filling GW's coffers as a clear signal of "More SG, please!" and they are finally getting the message. =P

it will need a lot of gamers (including new ones) in a very competitive market for SG products to flourish/survive.

With the new Titan game being in 8mm with highly detailed 15 to 20 cm high miniatures I wonder how much these will retail at?

GW seem to be pulling out all the stops to put their bad spell behind them. I'm almost excited!

Some more info at https://recalcitrantdaze.blogspot.co.uk ... -2017.html

Basically, if AT is a success they might do other games at the same scale such as massed tanks, but with no plans for an Epic-style combined arms game where you can have Titans, vehicles and infantry all at once.

Saw that as well IWJ.

"There is no great desire to redo Epic. While we may get more games at the same scale – such as a massed tank version there is no desire to see a combined titan/tank/infantry battle. Basically they don’t just want 40k at a smaller scale."

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2017/01/ ... -q1-2.html

A few people were commenting on how the last time Epic was out it directly competed with 28mm 40K sales.

Personally I'm somewhat torn down the middle. I want it to succeed because then that opens it up to the general public more so than an "unsupported" game ever could. The fear that it would render my currently collection "obsolete" however has me hoping it stays to just the larger titans and war engines. I'm not worried either way but the perfectionist in me would be deeply frustrated. :)

Deep down I'm still hoping that GW 8mm is actually truescale-scale... making my collection compatible regardless. Either way it is unlikely now that we will ever see infantry in the new and upcoming game. We will have to see.

Yeah, the resulting influx of players would've been great, but on the other hand we'd be split into three rulesets instead of two.

This is potentially pretty good. People will have Epic(ish) scale titans, and we may be able to get some of them to check out E:A or NetEPIC with either used minis or 3rd party proxies. The titans will be a little big, but we've always dealt with some scale oddities.

BoLS is also reporting that, because of the runaway success of Blood Bowl (which everyone except GW could have predicted), Adeptus Titanicus is being given a bigger budget, which may enable at least the base titan chassis to be plastic instead of resin.

That could significantly improve sales of the initial release.

Even better. Though for my part, I am going to buy it regardless.

They won me back with AoS, and since that time, they have only gotten better. This is the GW I loved and missed.

The one thing that drives me batty with GW also is release dates, when will it hit the shops and where are some of the pictures of the minatures ? Its not like some secret super weapon, why do they show their wares more often ! How can you expect to get people excited about an up and coming game system even more so on this due to the retro appeal of the older gamers when you keep it all hushed up :{[]

I thought GW were really good with the photos they released for Blood Bowl.

That says to me that the release date for any new Epic / AT is further away than we thought from rumours.
We'll just have to wait.

Oh no. Just that almost everything repeated is wishlisting not facts. It's very clear this thing is in the conceptual phase still. I'm sure they were all up to their eyeballs in the work that had gone on with Prospero (game and models from FW, produced by GW according to Hastings) and the apparent run away success of BB. In fact one of the few things concrete we DO know is that hit that the latter was caused GW to reassess the materials and scope of an AT vnext release (plastic buildings and ruins were mentioned as being considered now for example). I expect we'll see this this year but all that garbage about a Christmas release was pure poppycock

Based on my dealings with GW for decades. You will only know what you get and how the rules are etc., when you have purchased the "game" and open it up ... Until then, IMO, any speculation based on rumors and little blurbs from somewhere, etc., etc. You may as well be talking about Bigfoot, Nessie and Little Gray Aliens, etc., ...

And no matter what, some will be disappointed with the end resulting product. It's just the way things go with GW/FW. [or life in general] Add to that no matter what, you will paying for some pretty expensive "toys". :o But of course that is up to the buyer. And there is no better, paradigm when dealing with GW/FW ... Is the old adage - "Let the buyer beware !" Or P.T. Barnum's quote, "A sucker is born every minute !" :D

Is this the first picture of a new scaled model?
