Meh, they'll have an even better product if they hold off a bit. I'm in no rush, looking forward to it more and more.

I dead. Including plastic titans in the starter will have a huge effect on the success of the game, so if that is what they are doing, good on them.

I can also believe it, because the stand alone/ "new specialist" games seem to be huge sellers for them (gee, how come nobody ever suggested that to them before ::) ) so it is understandable that they might decide to rework one to be a bigger release than initially planned.

People did suggest that before. It's just that now GW has people that are willing to listen to the fans, instead of just trying to schist as much money out of everyone as they can. This current GW is the best they've been since the early 90s.

And yes, a bigger release is just fine with me. I may not have much of anyone else to play the game with, but I'm picking up at least the starter box of whatever A-T turns out to be.

Indeed

@splash. I was joking. Because everyone has been screaming at GW to bring back specialist games for a decade. And to actually DO something with them when they were just ignoring them before that.

Looks like the Titanicus material was pulled from April's White Dwarf.

Rumor has it that they are having trouble figuring out where to put it in the release schedule with so much else going on right now... And there's the resin vs plastic miniatures thing, too.

The Titanicus in WD was probably referring to the multiple novels released recently featuring titans, rather than the game. I suspect they may originally have scheduled these to come out around when AT was due but having got them written pushed them out anyway.

What i cant understand is that they seem to have gone from one extreme to the other. For 10+ years they stuck to a policy that releases should be closely guarded and stick to the main 2 systems as other games diluted the sales - based on the premise players only have a limited budget and only had time/money for a slow trickle feed. Over the last 18 months this has accelerated to the point where i cant imagine anyone has time/money to keep up with the core releases, let alone the side games.

I mean since New Year (hardly peak buying months you'd imagine) we've had 3 major 40k "gathering storm" releases, moving the fluff and game on further than it has in years, and now they are openly talking about 8th ed (which is usually death for core sales as people wait for the new system). Bonkers!

The new CEO has a very different attitude from Tom Kirby.

I do not agree, the 40k story has not moved much, what did we learn " gathering storm " nothing apart from papa smurf wakes up, Regarding all the releases they are just doing more to pull sales as the company is still not showing a healthy profit, If it was not for the IP on the computer games they would of had no profits this year.

Regarding the new C.E.O he is merely a puppet, the old ceo is still head of the board and pulls the strings, :)

Good things are happening regardng GW but lets face it nothing spectacular imo. :-\

@epic - Im only getting info from news articles (cant afford GW! :-)), but Cadia and biel tan being destroyed, Magnus turning up and trashing fenris, a faction of death-wish eldar emerging which units the 3 tribes away from kaine, awakening the god of death and helping wake up the papa smurf after a 10k year snooze. Sounds like the biggest fluff change since ive been playing, but you must have high expectations ! ;-p
