New news on Doom of Molech.

...and for the lazy amongst us:

  • Focus on the Knight world of Molech
  • 6 new narrative scenarios
  • A new Matched Play mission against the mighty beasts that roam Molech
  • New battlefield conditions and Strategems
  • Lots of rules related to fielding all-Knight forces
  • Rules for 4 new Legios: Crucius, Fortidus, Vulcanum, and Interfector

...and here's the notes from today's live stream:

  • Molech is an early battle of the HH where House Devine betrays the Loyalists
  • They have a copy of the book, it's coming next month
  • Focus will be on Knights and Knight Houses
  • Contents:
    • Talks about the Warmaster's invasion
    • History of Molech
    • Legios - Crucius (Warmongers), Fortidus (Dauntless), Vulcanum (Dark Fire/Lords of Ruin), Interfector (Murder Lords)
    • New Maniples - Fortis Battle (Warlord and Reavers), Ferrox Light (Reaver and Warhounds)
    • Knight Houses - All knight forces now possible - House Devine, House Donar, House Indra, House Casker, House Cowshik, House Mamaragon, House Tazkhar
    • Scenarios - recreates some of the key battles
    • Battlefields - steam, ruins, cities - less lethal than those in Titandeath
  • They have a spreadsheet of all Legios ever mentioned, and will keep knocking them off from "top tier" down
  • They'll do the same thing with Knight Houses
  • Legio Interfector has an Insanity Table
  • Legio Audax ONLY uses scout Titans, but more than Warhounds
  • All Knight Army uses another level of structure
  • Groups Banners into Lances, which has an HQ, and then Lances have a Commander and Retinue
  • FAQ comes out next month - and this book provides some clarifications
  • Knights charge in a straight line - helps balance
  • Knightly Qualities, Battle Standards, and Knight Strategems (with card pack, but rules are in the book as well)
  • Some Strategems are unique to Knight Houses
  • Playing all-Knight forces is very different and takes different tactics - expect casualties
  • Beast Hunts as Matched Play, with three kinds of "monsters"
  • They will do a combined Loyalist House decal sheet and Traitor one
  • They will continue to do Imperial forces for the near future - Xenos might be done "someday"
  • Civitas Imperialis Spires are on the way
  • More Titan classes are on the way
  • Grand Master Set is coming back, but no set date
  • Mechanicum-style terrain is something for the future

I wonder how much background they will have on the conflict? I don't play AT but I would like to have more info about the battles on Molech

With various rules being intruduced across multiple books, how does one keep track? The Knight charge in a straight line sounds like it would apply to all Knights, not just those featured in the Molech book. Or would my Knights from the GM edition behave differently from Molech Knights, even if they are the same model?

same way with all GW games- badly. There were complaints about similar problems with the necromunda books. Rules were scattered across the piecemeal releases. The only way I know that people solved it was by using the collected edition from Reddit, which allowed people to search for rules on the fly. GW kind of ignored the reddit collection for a while, but since the release of the official collected books, I've not seen anyone link to it so it's either been stamped out or there is no longer any call for it.

I presume if GW dont allow a collected rules edition to surface, then the only way to really cover the rules issues is to choose which 'edition' of the game you are playing and have that book over write any older books.

Thankfully I only game at home, so issues like this really don't affect me, but I can imagine it must be hell to want to play in a stricter tournament style setting with GW current rules releases.

I'm looking forward to this. I was planning on painting up at least some of my knights as house devine. An all-knight army and beast hunt sound pretty cool too.

Schoon - thank you for the heads up and steady info stream!

Question: do the new titan legions covered include the one Devine betrays? I think having the two of them in one army would add cool flavor... yeah they're good now, but when do they shoot us in the kiester?

Cheers for the clarification. I guess it's an unfortunate side effect of GW needing to make money by making regular releases - which I understand.

It's detailed in the BL book Vengeful Spirit, though there isn't much in the way of Titan conflicts, they're there but to detail them would spoil it for you.

The Knight charge change is clearly a balancing issue - Knights had become a little too deadly without that interpretation.

It will also be in the FAQ coming up next month, so no need to buy the book just for that little snippet.

And £93 for a titan with the new resin weapons compared to £65 for a GW full plastic version. I think they are pushing the limit there..
