Let's do the trigonometry!

A Warlord is ~36m tall.
My thumb is around 2" tall.
The guide above says my arm is 25" long (not going to measure it in case it shows I'm a mutant ... I don't want to have to report myself ... better not to know).

So that's (36 / 2) * 25. An operational safety distance of 450 meters.

So at 6mm scale that's roughly 135 cm (about 4 1/2 feet), at 8mm scale that's 180 cm (about 6 feet).
Note: For simplicity, I assumed that in X mm scale, X mm is roughly 2000 mm in unscaled distance (which is probably within about 10% of reality (since the average person is not really 2m in height)).

This totally explains why there will be no infantry in the game. They are all busy fleeing/withdrawing to a safe operational distance and don't fit on the board!

Handily they provide a mutation self-checklist - https://regimental-standard.com/2018/01 ... -a-mutant/

Those pricing rumours today (That seem to have a few more sources now) of almost $500 AUD for the grand starter are nuts.
Comments indicate that makes it in the UK 190 pound bracket.

Sounds high to me, thats a lots of moolah for a starter box.
Would at least explain why they have been so tight lipped on price till now.

I was thinking of getting one as a gateway to epic for people, but at that price I can just make a bunch more epic armys.

So, I had it stated from two or three separate sources that the AT boxed set will retail over here at S$420, which is about 240 GBP, and a single Warlord will retail at S$155, about 88 GBP.

Honestly, this is insane. Something like the Kill Team box was half that price, and you can use the minis in 40K. Now, I now that a Warlord is about the size of a 40K Knight, and the Knight is that price..... But here's the thing... I didn't ask for them to up the size to this big. The Warlord doesnt NEED to be that big. GW increased the scale, then made the Warlord bigger again, and now wants me to pay for it.

And the box set itself contains two Warlords and a handful of Knights. The Warlord Titan is the star of the show here, and the Knights are really there as fodder, which means that the reality is that this box set gives you a one on one Titan game..... for that price!

And then you have the fact that the game simply wont sell in big enough numbers meaning that any dreams of Epic expansions are pretty much dead in the water at this point, and while we MIGHT get an Ork/Chaos expansion, I would suspect that this would be the end of it.

I am super disappointed right now. I will most likely end up doing what I suspect 80% of people will do - but the book and find some Titans on eBay. If you have any you want to sell off, this will be the best time to get the highest price for them..... up to about 85 GBP I would think!

Thanks for the confirmed prices - I think that's pretty much what we were expecting? Maybe slightly more. Perhaps the £240 rumour was designed by GW to make £175 look like good value!

Having checked my Nuclear Shrimp Warbringer (£42) closely for the first time the other day, and found the quality to be hit and miss, I have to conclude that good models cost money.
