I spent some time today (I have a few days off work) doing a little experiment to create a free, open source, web-based and 100% client-side (ie no server you have to send data to) army list creator. It's very generic (it doesn't know about any game systems) so it's only slightly more featureful than an Excel spreadsheet, but it scratches an itch that I've had.

I've posted to my blog about it here and you can try it out here. Feedback much appreciated.

Hey Jodrell,

I've just had a go on your army list creator, its pretty cool but how do I save my completed army to my computer?

Ideally id like to print it out.

In your web browser, go to the Army Constructor page and select "Save..." From the File menu. Save the web page to your computer.

Then, on the web page, click the "Export" button and copy the blob of characters that appears in the text box. Then open the file you saved, paste the blob of characters into the text box and click the "Import" button. If you close your browser and re-open your file, the army list will still be present.

You can print your army list just by selecting "Print..." From the File menu.
