Nice? Yes. Expensive? Seriously. These don't look too bad for a single section, but try calculating how many you would need for even a small Space Hulk game.

These are better, in my opinion:

Gamecraft's are nice too, if intermediately priced.

I bought GameCrafts so I could do the interior of 'The Intrepid Fox', our player ship in our EW campaign (currently using the Traveller rules system).

The £90 set doesn't even include the doors :-\

That said, 2'*2' of terrain from FW for £90 is not as bad as it could have been, even if it is hollow.

Is it a rock ship?

Yes but I like high walls, not little stumps :)

Was thinking more of something suitable for some sort of Advanced Space Crusade set up myself, rather than SH specifically.

My opinion of the FW Zone Mortalis terrain pieces:

A+ on the small detail.
F on the overall design.

The walls look great, but the resulting assembly looks nothing like the inside of a starship or any building. I mean, why would the inside of a starship be a high-tech hedge maze? Plus, its too big and too generic to pull double duty as space hulk terrain.

I think I would have preferred detailed floor tiles with separate walls (which I could have sworn they sold in the past).

To make things difficult for enemy boarders?

To form an anti-Chaotic design which helps with Warp travel?

Thousands of years of retrofitting, all of which made sense at the time?

It's not all part of one spaceship?

User-friendliness being the last on the list of the engineers' concerns?

Absolutely maximizing utilization of space between larger areas?

To make things difficult for enemy boarders?

Or give them more places to hide.

Uh huh. If that were true, then there'd be more puppies, because everyone knows that random pointless hallways only act as an anti-chaos design if puppies are included.

And yet, apparently the style of interior design or available materials hasn't changed over those thousands of years.

And yet, all the halls line up! What an amazing coincidence. Also, see my preceding comment.

Sure, because what engineer doesn't sit around planning partition walls in an otherwise big empty room. I'd sooner blame HR.

Sure, because nothing makes a space more useful than putting up walls that take up space.

In all seriousness though, I do understand that it is easier for a modeler to design modular terrain using repeating details. I'm just saying, the resulting assembly rarely winds up looking like anything realistic.

It would be far better if there were dead areas. Power runs, data buses, water, air, all have to be transported around the ship. that there are no areas for utilities to exist is what bothers me.

Boarders never hide. They charge forward into gunfire in the name of the Emperor (or Chaos).

Alternately, that's what turning on the poisoned gas is for.

The puppies are stowed away during battle. Duh.

Of course. Uber-Gothic never goes out of fashion.

The twisting energies of the Warp are a strange and amazing thing.

Engineers hate everyone else. Fact.

Makes hull breaches less dangerous and hanging shelves more practical.

Hush. Next you'll say Space Marines can't happen.

Be very careful what you say next. Further references to Advanced Space Crusade are liable to make me go off on telling anyone and everyone just how cool I think that game really is, and how it's one of my three favourite GW games of all time, and how I had a discussion with Jervis about it and that I like it more than he does! ;) Seriously, I went through a phase of buying old, cheap Space Hulk sets just for the board section so I could use them for ASC - and the Ultramarine game board sections don't fit and are too thin. I ended up with four sets of first edition, Deathwing, Genestealer and one set of second edition.
