Hi just wanted to ask a question? when i was younger i got into epic spacemarine collected a huge ork army, "which has since been thrown out by an ex girlfriend!" a good for years back, but have recently got interested again and started buying a new army on ebay..  I've bought and read epic armageddon and to be honest it doesnt seem very good i much preferred to old rules in space marine box 2... Anyways I'll stop droning on basically I want to start battling again and am guessing the net epic version 5 rules are the way to go, but where can u play and find opponents? im guessing games workshop won't let you play against people there if its not epic armaggedon????

Games workshop won't even let you play Epic:Armageddon (4th edition) in their stores most of the time! heh

Personally I prefer 4th edition over the previous editions, but if you want a game that's based on the mechanics of the 1st/2nd edition rules, then Netepic is probably the best rulesset for you.

What country / city are you from?

Someone will be along soon with an opponent-finder website link. :)

I'm not so sure EVERY GW store is that tough on the players.  The two I've been in have been quite nice about it.  Maybe it's a US thing, distance from the throne makes us rebellious?  Sounds awfully familiar... :D

Welcome to TacComm, Twenty.

As E&C said, if you prefer older versions of Epic over the current edition, then NetEpic is probably for you. I personally think NetEpic is better than SM2.

I agree, not every store, but it appears to be the discretion of the managers, Belfast GW does NOT allow Epic in any form, not even on Vets nights (it used to). I'm assuming orders from on high are not to play it but some shops are flouting that ruling.

At the Discretion of the managers, but leant on heavily from higher up to not allow it it seems.

One of my local stores wont allow Epic to be played at their Vets night, as the regional manager was very much against it. Distracting sales away from the core ranges where there's higher profits & all that....

However, the manager was then given permission to run an invite only alternative games night at the store (store closed, basically use it as a location to borrow terrain etc.) and we were allowed to demo DRM there!!

Rather odd, and I'd rather see E:A accepted generally in GWs, but from DRMs perspective I'm certainly not complaining!  :blues:

Back on topic - NetEpic is a great set of rules! Good luck in finding an opponent & enjoy the system so many have worked hard on for years!
