Yes.... Its another one of those messages. Use of personal data has been a very hot topic recently, from Cambridge Analytica, to Facebook, to the recent GDPR switch. Broadly, these changes have had zero impact on this site for a number of reasons, but I wanted to clarify a few things and let you all know that this isnt just being ignored and swept under the carpet. In a nutshell, we are not affected because we dont actually do anything with your data, and it is only used in your navigating of these forums. I am the sole owner and admnistrator of this site, and we have no data handling outside. I dont sell your data or pass it on to anyone at all, its not used for any 'similar products that might interest you' and its stored securely*. I dont even have any ads on this site which track clicks or browsing history. Your personal data is and always will be secure and remain confidential. If you have any concerns about your personal data here, or would just like to know anything further, pleasae drop me a PM vie these boards. * I originally stated that your data was stored encrypted. Your passwords are stored encrypted and even I am unable to view them, while your other data is stored as text securely in our database, which only I have access to. |
