He proberly did what I did, buy a few sprues cheap at Games Day (about ?1 each) and flog them on to stupid fools. I just wish I got more then a handfull, these things could have got me through Uni! :cool:

if you have a look at the Citadel Limited Editions section of my website, I sold most of these through eBay for silly amounts of money.

I once sold the Forces of Fantasy supplement for Warhammer I for over ?90, which wasn't bad when you consider that:
(a) I hadn't used it since WHFB II came out in 1985
(b) It was in terrible condition, no box, torn in places and written on in some places.

I also had a collection of all the Talisman miniatures, I had painted some, most, well virtually all, were still in a black undercoat stage... sold them all for a minimum of ?4 each, think I made ?400 on them in total...

If you have the stuff, you can make money - the key is not to have an emotional attachment to any of the figures!!!

I'm one of those sad sorts who will buy old stuff for many ?s
..But I don't usually have to, having a nice sci-fi/comic books, etc store which has a large selection of old GW stuff at "not-too" extreme prices :;):

Hi!

E-bay is a sellers' paradise. I do VERY little buying of epic on E-bay, prices are just RIDICULOUS. YOu can get the same and more for much less on Bartertown or trading sections across many forums.

On the other hand if you want to sell, definitely do it on E-bay. Signius, if you ever wanted to fill up those IG slots in your army easily, sell some SM excess on e-bay, then buy what you need elsewhere, you'll make a killing! :)

It does make you think how much your armies would be worth on E-bay if you sold them there.

But, alas, my golden rule for Epic is....

I dont sell only buy! :p

Yes, I hear that loud and clear!

Thats why I tend to avoid trades. Epic has become a valuable commodity on the net, thus its much better for you to sell than trade, since the other trader will place as much of a subjective value on his epic wares as you will. In a sell, since it involves cash the seller needs to balance his feelings of worth with what people are willing to pay. So your better of selling than trading due to this.

I reserve trades for good friends, since the interest is more in them getting a cool army than me getting a fair market value.

I know what you mean. I mostly trade as in "buy" myself. I haven't sold any yet except to local interested players at much less than they're worth. I also gave some to some friends in Israel.

One of these days, I'll build the stuff I like most and sell the extras... (I hope not!)  :cool:  :laugh:

When I do see models leave my collection, I prefer that they go to people I know.

Well with the escalation that was precipated by posting on these forums, I doubt anyone will be nuking us epicwise anytime soon, I have already laid down my purchases and expansions for the next two years in which I will reach my goal of......

....one million points.. :cool:

Then I will open a shrine for epic gamers to pray to the god of epic minis...
