So,

Feral orks have a macro AA, does this negate jink? We'd been playing yes, but at Daventry some folks weren't so sure. Was looking for an official EUK verdict on this one please ahead of the Manchester tourney.

From the rules: "Fighters and fighter-bombers can choose to ‘jink’ when they have to make a saving throw. Jinking represents the pilot desperately swerving his plane to one side in order to try and dodge the enemy attack. All of the aircraft in a formation must jink, or none at all. Aircraft that jink receive a 4+ saving throw instead of their normal armour save but lose their attack if they have not already taken it (they are concentrating on dodging enemy bullets). Place a suitable marker on the aircraft as a reminder it can’t shoot."

Its also worth noting that Ferals are a pretty underpowered army already.

Just realised Dan already posted on this one.

What was the verdict? I totally missed Dan’s post.

They are not underpowered.
They can field a shed load of dc6 war engines and 3 titans in a 3k match.
They are just really really really boring.

I find them pretty fun to play against. I think they’re completely mid-tier. Very strong units but their lack of speed in a game which is principally about mobility is a massive weakness.

if they were all you played against, then yeah I can see them being boring, especially as they effectively shut down air assault lists with MW AA Spam, that being said, if you place your objectives well, hide your BTS and nobble the junka brigades and anything else remotely quick, it can be very difficult for ferals to actually win games, though conversely if the feral player plays to his strengths, it can be very difficult for ferals to lose games either.....

Hence my brother’s really rather astonishing draw record! :-)

plenty of arguably more boring lists to play against out there - necrons, dans air list. Funny I came up with a strong cc list with unbreakable AA given my regular player...

;-)

That said, it would be nice to lower squiggoths to 40pts to make them a viable alternate to shed loads of orkysaurus. Could then do a slightly more flimsy slightly faster build.

Yeah pots and kettles there. Dan, the man who came up with the most boring list since Chris Hayes Siegemasters accuses others of having boring lists. :-)
