One very positive thing that has come out of the NDC-experiment is that a bunch of us finally got around to try online games on Vassal. And Mrdiealot is working hard on making a E:a version on tabletop simulator that works good. I myself have already played 6 or 7 games on Vassal and 2 on Tabletop simulator theese last 2 weeks. The problem is to find opponents. Here on Taccoms you'll have to post a thread about wanting a game and then keep refreshing the page until so,eone answers. It's a very clunky way of doing it and not many will find opponents thru this. So I thought i would create a Slack workplace only dedicated to finding games on Vassal or Tabletop Simulator! Slack works better because you can have notifications on and right away get one if someone logs the're looking for a game. This could help peolple finding games easier online. If you want to join this slack channel give me your e-mail and I'll invite you. This is open to anyone who's interested! Lets coordinate thoose games now fellows! |

Yeah, Tabletop Simulator is really promising for playing EA. Have played 4 games so far, and it works really well. What needs more work is the main module (the dedicated EA table) and making the existing EA assets that's on the Steam Workshop complete. Doing some scripting might be nice as well, but it's not absolutely needed to play the game when you become friends with the controls. The good news is that I'm very close to being able to release the table module and the Dark Angels list I'm AC for. The Dagon Tyranid list needs some more polish, but after that I plan to start producing complete modules for all the NetEA lists. Even better news is that there's already a magnificent collection very well made EA assets in the workshop, mostly made from the gargantuan collection of 40k assets. The bad news is that there's quite a bit of a learning curve involved in making your own assets, but at some point I'll probably make some tutorials about what's needed to do this efficiently. |

I learned it pretty fast. You move units around on a 2d board and roll dice using vassals own die rolling mechanism. It's not pretty but very easy to learn. |

Yep pretty straight forward to learn..below are just some points I did ages ago, on the WargaminAU site, link below viewtopic.php?f=84&t=32249&start=15 Tabletop Simulator looks good, I have it, but have not manage to do much with it..
