The NetEA development Committee is now up and running!

We have a forum using the Slack app/program we're we discuss all ideas and proposals. We're currently in the pre-step 1 voting phase and are spitballing a ton of ideas.

We're quite a few members already but want at least 10 more! All nations except Sweden have open seats on the committee so if you're interested to join let us know!
We're looking for people that are well versed in the game and that play activly. Step 1 voting (to decide what changes we will try out) starts on March the 1st, so if you want to have a say what we should vote for please join before then.

This is not a try to usurp the ERC inany way. We're trying out a different process of approaching lists changes to see if it works better than the current one. A detailed documentation of the process will be provided to the community so it can judge for itself how this process worked!

The more active people that join and bring their ideas the better! Right now Sweden, Australia, UK and US are represented. We would really like to have Germany, Denmark and France represented also.

Welcome!

I am pleased this has got off the ground. Who should be contacted by those who wish to take a seat on the forum? (Not me by the way)

Also how do you intend to communicate with the wider Epic community?
Do you expect people to join that forum as well to listen in, or will the results just be fed back through the various committees (NetEA, E-EU, E-FR etc)?

They can contact me here by PM or by mail to moroten at gmail dot com

This first year we will just try the process out than present the results here and on Epic FB-groups for everyone to see. If it's a good process that we and the community feels can be usefull we'll set up some threads on above listed forum s for people to write in. But to be honest we'll focus on this first try first and see where it leads us before thinking of whats next. The group does a closed testing similar to the EpicUk way. But hopefully there will be 30 people involved in that process.

Except that given the chance, most people will vote higher the most powerful, varied or crazy one. I doubt that if everyone that goes to a tournament vote between something like NetEA Krieg and UK Krieg, UK would get more votes.

Could be the TO’s decision.

Also, pedant point, the netea krieg list is waaaay stronger than the epic UK counterpart.

Yeah, the EUK list had the benefit of coming later, working from greater playtest experience. No bad thing.

And, which is interesting in relation to this thread, the epic UK list has been (quickly) depowered twice in recent years.

And that's the kind of responsiveness that we would like to see in NetEA lists too.

So, just curious, but are you pushing forward with the committee concept without support or approval from NetEA?

Quite a few of ERC are now engaged in the process, so it doesn't look like it will be a problem.

Ok cool, It just seemed that if that was the case it would further fracture things rather than help.

indeed it would also be a great move to post periodic summary updates here to keep the wider community abreast of developments, and to canvas opinions and ideas.

But right now we have an ERC missing one member and with another moving positions, we have one AC stepping down, 3 more either ghosts or completely inactive, any number of sub-ACs missing in action, inactive or hogging lists and doing zero development and a wider community largely disengaged with the process, I'd say it's pretty fractured right now and not in a good place....

Can't really see how doing an effort to actually get some suggestions for several lists playtested within a dedicated group of active players would fracture NetEA?
In all statements we've been clear that we're not trying to usurp the ERC. It's a initiative to get things going again. Hopefully it works out good and we'll see some revitalizing of the community thru this project. If not, well then we know what won't help.

And as Kyussinchains said, the current state of things isn't great.

The Committee has reached almost 20 members with Sweden and UK filling all of their 5 seats.
We're still missing German, Danish and French members though and would love to have them omboard! On the 1st of March Step 1 voting starts and after that discussions will be confined to the suggestion and ideas making it through that vote.
If any players of above mentioned communities wants to be apart of this project, please let me know thru PM ASAP.

So, which communities are represented now, and how many seats each?
