Yep, that's not the case. Unit's that rally can't capture/contest objectives.

However, a rallied unit can deny the They Shall Not Pass victory condition.

I know your feel. This exact rule have been played wrongly in our games for some time aswell, until a rule-commissar came and began cleansing them out one-by-one, using whatever support, guidance, or desperate actions necessary to succeed. :spin

To confuse you further (or perhaps explain your confusion ;) ), an Enemy formation that rallies in the opposing table half *does* prevent the opponent from claiming the victory condition "they shall not pass".

I believe the reasoning behind this apparent contradiction is the principle that a player must gain objectives by using superior tactics, but may be prevented from gaining by luck as well as enemy action, making it that little bit harder to achieve victory.

It is worth checking out the FAQ on this and the pre-game set up steps at the bottom of p99 in the tournament pack.

Oops, we got this wrong in our game didn't we. I think I've actually mostly played it the correct way, but I'm forgetful about things.
