JimmyZimms, or anyone else who might know how to make sprites for Dark Eldar, I have photographed, and edited the photos of a number of my DE miniatures and compressed them and saved them as .JPG format (no other format was available to save them in).

I can forward the pictures to anyone interested in using them for Vassal DE sprites. Either that or you can tell me how to make them into sprites, which programs to use to save them in the correct format, etc.

The list of m inis I too photos of are:

Incubi
Incubi with Archon
Wyches
Wyches with Succubus
Scourges
Mandrakes
Haemonculi
Wracks
Venom
Ravager
Barge of Pleasure
Vessel of Pain
Tormentor Titan
Hellions
Talos


I know the Tormentor, Barge and VOP already have sprites for them, but I wanted to offer alternatives.

I just added a few things to the mod:

Adding a drop-down list to choose between Scarab Conflict Necrons or Sautek Legion Necrons
Adding a Pariah stand with Lord to the Scarab Conflict Necrons
Adding nearly everything to the Sautek Legion Necrons. Images were taken from Vassal40k and scaled down. The only units not currently available are those I haven't found pre-existing sprites for (like the Night Shroud Bomber). I can make these myself, but that'll be a long time away.
Fixing (hopefully) the Necron selection size issue for all Necron units.

I also fixed the error that prevented Eldar Scorpions from easily moving, being copied or deleted (a simple typo in the piece instructions).

I've named the mod ea_1.1.15b. Not that it matters too much, but is 1.1.16 any better?

What's the best way to distribute the update?

Deb- I generally think it's much easier to take the sprites from Vassal40k and scale them to make the units, though if you're keen enough I'm sure no one will complain with your photo method. Images are best as a PNG type, and models should be cropped to be free of any base or hint of an underlying base colour (since the mod uses bases which can be changed as needed). The easiest way to get the images is to open up the Vassal40k mod or Dark Eldar module (images are scattered across both) using a zip library tool, like WinRAR. Find the images you want, export them out, then edit them. I find GIMP pretty good for editing this kind of image. Both WinRAR and GIMP are free.

I've had another shot at Vassal and have now added most Dark Eldar units, plus the Tau Tetra (whose absence had been annoying me).

Here's a pic of all the new stuff- most of the top right is the many possible Dark Eldar character options. As mentioned before, I've just taken the sprites from v40k, so if it's not in there I haven't added it here.

Vassal doesn't have any centralised auto-updating- if anyone wants this stuff it'll have to be shared around.

There's a heap of pre-made maps that I don't yet have and/or haven't added to the mod yet, so I'll update it once I've done that (no guarantee on it being soon!).

Also, having talked with Jimmyzimms, he may be looking to put out his own updated version sometime soon (not that I am making any promises for him!).
