Well I am going to break out the minis and start planning what I will paint for this list.

If there is anything that will take my fancy over my other projects, it is the Genestealer Cult so you have an instant 'disciple' waiting here ready to test the list over and over again. In this, I do not think I am alone either. Genestealer Cult fans are usually pretty dedicated to the cause ;)

Build it and they will come.

Good to know, obviously building a new list from scratch for a suppliment means a lot of testing will be needed. I'll try and get a more formalised version with stats up either tonight or tommorrow.

Almost like the genestealer cult has a cult following...

Magus should definitely be his own character, IMO.

Killing the Magus or the Patriarch should claim BTS, too.

Simple. They blend in with everyone else's purple and gold limos.

Reality is usually stranger than Fiction ;)

Normally this would sound reasonable, however when dealing with the rules of Epic and how things can be targetted (especially aircraft sniping - regardless of what the rules state, it can be done), I do not believe this to be a 'fair' rule. It can be representative of his retinue perhaps, however I do not think having the BTS in one INF stand is playable. Also the Magus dying (although tragic) is nothing comparred to the 'father' dying. Perhaps the human populace may be effected, but certainly not the hybrids and purestrains while the Patriarch is alive.

Also just for clarrification, is it Blood Brothers or Brood Brothers?

I'm not in favour of special rules affecting the tournament scenario, especially in a supplement which will contain lots of different scenarios many of which will not have a BTS goal.

Some kind of Eldar Avatar style effect could be done for the patriarch's death though (BMs on everyone).

As long as they are getting a benefit for him while he is alive ;)

If my count is correct I believe I have enough for
- 21 Genstealer Stands
- Patriarch
- 10-30 cultist stands
- lictors

I need Genestealer hybrids. Oh where oh where will I ever find these *nudge* *nudge*

Is the list done yet? :)

Doesn't has the Tau Ethereal some similar Avatar effect?

He makes his formation fearless but it automatically breaks if it dies. I think that is a silly and unneccesary rule, and doesn't properly represent their background or 40k rules.

I am happy to get involved with this in any way I can, as a huge GS Cult fan from way back (it was my first Rogue Trader 40K army).

Ok, here's a second crack at the cult list, with stats for the new units:

I like the flexibility that's built into it. The "Driver's Lasgun/Small Arms" on the civilian vehicle is a classy touch. If I were able to scrounge the models for this, I'd definitely give it a shot.

I'm concerned, however, by the Patriarch. He's got a list of special abilities as longas my arm. I'd be surprised if there was another unit in EA that had more. Most are pretty well justified by the fluff, but Reinforced Armor and Scout seem out of place. Care to expound upon those? The cost of 100pts for a unit significantly better than an IG Supreme Commander against a background very similar (SR2, Init2+, same basic trooper except for the gun) seems out of whack.
