Think Norto's idea is a great one. Too hard to know what's what on the NetEA page right now.

I agree, I can go ahead and get them reorganised earlier this week

Any chance we could get a refresh for all the file updates on the approved lists?

let me merge the latest updates

personally I think we should replace the existing site with the IO pages so they auto-refresh

A number of problems with the Net-EA Krieg list:

The list no longer has access to single Warhounds
Deathstrike Silo should be 250
Grenadiers transport options should cost +75 not 100.
Light Support should cost 200
Death Riders should be 250
Hellhounds should be 100

Well that was a fun trawl confirming whether singleton warhounds had actually been removed.... The 'official' list in the thread has them still in, whereas the TP doesn't, it was not immediately clear which was correct and why......

I know nobody gives a crap about NetEA development any more but for the sake of my sanity can we please implement some proper version control?? I've had numerous enquiries about TP vs. list PDFs for my lists and it seems the standard is different elsewhere with the TP taking precedence in some cases and the PDFs in others.....

Maybe the few remaining ACs should have a clear out of all the old lists from their areas and publish new, current, master PDF files?

When were those changes approved?
Why and what reasons?
Is there a thread?

Just getting tired of painting and collecting armies for these kind of changes to just sweep in.
I understand for experimental, developmental still hurts. But it's pretty bullshit for Approved armies.

Plenty of hours wasted for another army that will need new models painted and others permenantly shelved to be usable again

Fair questions Mard, particularly on an Approved list, and with no apparent thread in the IG section.

Some of us still care Kyuss, even if we're not ACs. This "invisible hand" behaviour doesn't help with our motivation though.

This is correct, Rug put this forward back in September because, I believe, it had NDC support. Rug announced the change here,

Quote:
Deathstrike Silo should be 250
Grenadiers transport options should cost +75 not 100.
Light Support should cost 200
Death Riders should be 250
Hellhounds should be 100

The numbers here (from the TP) are correct, they are army builder errors. If the Krieg PDF that Shadowlord put together is different from the TP it's because he never brought the changes forward for approval.

Does the above answer your questions well enough Mard? The only actual change was the removal of the singleton Warhound, the points have been what they are in the TP since Feb. 2016 when we got an update from Shadowlord. No one's changing point values or unit composition on you.

Agreed. It is a similar story with the Tau list: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=29531&start=55

I guess we will never get the PDF updated now. To be honest at this point it would be better to remove the PDF entirely and just generate it from the TP.

I reckon the the best thing would be to always use the tournament pack for army builder (for approved lists), seem unnecessarily complicated and confusing otherwise.

If there's a trial version with a PDF treat it as a beta that could theoretically make it in the to the tournament pack in time.

Yes, I will update the armyforge page to use the TP version number (i.e. change date - 2018-08-14). I thought I had already made the change to bring in line with the TP list but apparently not, I think I was assuming that a 6.9 PDF would be forthcoming. Unless the 6.8 PDF gets taken down or replaced with the TP version it is going to cause confusion.

They TP version numbers are not nice for people to use in conversation with each other like '6.8' is and they also convey no semantic meaning (one can tell that 6.9.0 is an evolution of 6.8.0, 6.8.1 is a minor fix and 7.0.0 is a more major edition), but at least they do have a version for each change. I do have a minor gripe that the version is not stated inside the HTML version like it is on the index page and in the PDF, not entirely sure why this is. If I get some time I may have a look at the TP repo to see if this is easy to include.

The only issue here is that the TP version is built from the PDFs of the lists in most cases, I have had unintentional errors creep in to the TP version of some of the lists I have written, this happens and is fixable, but not always spotted immediately, if there is a disagreement and someone asks, I will always refer them to the PDF of the list which I endeavour to keep completely up to date in the relevant sections of the site, if I'm the AC then the buck stops with me, and I consider it my responsibility to keep track of what is and isn't correct

Simply put, the TP lists are (for the most part) built from the master files on taccomms, and not the other way round.... I think you could end up with the tail wagging the dog otherwise (which has started to happen with the Krieg list, causing frustration and hurt feelings which could have been avoided)

Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill here....
