I am planning to go out to a local epic night, with my long mothballed epic orkseses.

I have been reading the book and checking out online lists, but I am a little stymied by the army list. It's almost as if there are too many choices, so without having played the newest version of the game, I am a little at sea about unit sizes and composition.

I am going to post my available models list; any help anyone might like to give me would be appreciated. I am most excited about the gunwagons, stompas, and battlefortress models, so would like to use a vehicle heavy force.

Heh, if you want some more infantry,  I can bring some sprues to Da Bunka tomorrow.  That being said,  you should look at what Chad (Shaggrud Deathblasta) runs.  His list is fairly brutal.  That being said I'm debating on whether to run chaos or squats :)

What Squat list do you play with? I'm trying to put one together as we speak and would love some pointers :D.

I've like to help but I've only played against Orks and don't feel I have enough experience to comment all that much.

Looking over what you have you seem to have a good amount of a lot of things. You could do with more Nobz stands and Grotz stands - Grotz are very, very useful in epic, because their death does not cause blast markers or a point of combat resolution to the opponent. Oddboyz generally are good. Many SM era units, particularly vehicles are more abstracted into gunwagon, battlewagon, etc  these days. You'll want Flakwagonz for ground AA too, not sure how many you might have. You should really try to acquire some Fighta-Bommerz if possible as these are very useful for lots of things, possible a Landa too.

Checkout the Strategy and Tactics section of the forum though, there are some Ork threads and tips there that may help.

I am going to post my available models list; any help anyone might like to give me would be appreciated. I am most excited about the gunwagons, stompas, and battlefortress models, so would like to use a vehicle heavy force.

The main issue you're going to have is lack of AA ability.  Without any Fightabommas and limited flakwagons, you're basically wide open.  Eventually, you'll need to pick up some of those units but with all the Gunwagons you could probably scratch build some AA turrets.

If you want to stick with vehicle-heavy, you could make a ~2000 point list like this...

Warband + 2 gunwagons, 3 battlewagons, 1 Flakwagon (that gives one spare transport slot) - 410 points

Warband + Battlefortress + Gunfortress - the gunfortress is for firepower and to run in front of the Battlefortress.  Depending on the situation, you may be able to leave the Battlefortress loaded with troops so you can use a long-range assault. - 460 points (official) or 440 points with the NetEA/EpicUK mods

Big Kult of Speed - all the Skorchas and Warbikes, fill in with Buggies

Big Blitz with 2 Oddboyz (your choice) - optimum composition is usually considered to be a ratio of 1 Oddwagon, 1 Gunwagon, 2 Flakwagons but you're limited on flakwagons - 350 points

Blitz with 1 Zzapwagon (You could also add a Gunfort to this - in addition to the firepower, having a WE to block line of sight to the rest of the formation can be useful for shielding that valuable Zzap) - 200 points

Blitz with 1 Zzapwagon - 200 points

===

Another way to go with the models you have is a slow, tough wave.  You can make a 2000 point base with that as well.  It would need some fast elements and some smaller formations to provide flexibility with respect to maneuver and activations but it would be a durable core to build on.

A warband with 2 Stompas and 2 Dreads - This formation can garrison.  The Stompas and Dreads are Walkers, so they are good for moving in cover with the infantry.  If you have to get in the open the infantry can use the vehicles for cover saves.  You only have enough for 2 warbands, so you can't do this and 2 mechanized mobz. - 420 points

Stompas + Supastompa - 475 (official), 500 (NetEA/EpicUK mods)

Gargant (obviously) - 650

Uge Big Gunz + 3 Oddboyz - Personally, I mount several Shokk Attaks on one stand and count those as an Oddboy.  That would give you 12 stand + 3 Oddboyz.  Optimally, I would suggest adding a Nob or two if you can scrounge up the models. - 475 (plus any Nobz)

===

Pretty much any mix-n-match of those could work as long as you plan for the formations to work together.  Aside from the lack of AA, you could have a functional and well-rounded 3500+ point army if you threw it all on the board.  Aircraft and a few flakwagons for the infantry mobz would get you to a solid 4K army and give you a lot of choices at lower point levels.

Basically, your models come out to pretty nice even formations.  There aren't very many obvious things to fill in for expanding the army but if you decide to, some things you can do with relatively few models:

* Fightabommas - great aircraft and can boost activation count
* Landa for air assaults
* Another Warband, for air assaults or to move to a Big formation
* Stormboyz formation - 6-8, plus 1-3 Deth Koptas is a popular choice
