And it's all painted  :D

Good Job. That is a lot of painting to do.

I would like to see the pictures once you can post them.

Hi!

Kudos, lots of painting accomplished there!

That would be an interesting topic, to find out what percentage of peoples collections are actually painted.

I guess that topic can be somewhat depressing too... :(

Well done, that is a lot of painting to do...!
I'm currently in the middle of a long painting phase, trying to get all my Epic, BFG and 40k armies up to scratch... Done my BFG, and I'm currently in the middle of doing all my unpainted Epic.... :)

As for painting.

The 'takedan' battallion is simply, black undercoat, codex grey dry brush, fortress grey 'blanket' and cuffs, boltgun metal helmet and gun (with bronzed flesh face and hands), you can do 60 figs in 2 hours, (Inc. basing with flock)

The rest were done over several months/years (the Necromundian are my old guard figures rebased)!

Also, the whole lot comes from 9 Sprues of guard!

Still not finished though (see my bits needed trade post, PLEASE! ;) )

Piccies when available (I have no digicam :( )

Hmm.. yeah that will take a long time just to glue together, not even paint.. Then you'll want some Chimeras, Leman Russes, Supheavies, etc, etc..... Are you gonna get some FW stuff BTW Chris to add to all your plastics?

hehe- I hope you have plenty of spare time anyway!!

Hi!

Putting together the infantry stands and cutting out those infantry from the sprues are a real pain, almost as bad as having to paint...almost.

I tend to use grey primer on everything, since I like my color bright and not drab. I then use a spray can of the most common color on the model and give them an even coat. Then all I have to do is paint the details and highlights. It saves oodles of time.

If you are going to cut that many troops off the sprews then invest in a sprew snipper. I use the one from Testers. I helped a friend and cut off the bugs from 8 stands with not one broken in a very short amount of time. Works well.

Another suggestion. We had an egg carton and that way we could keep the troops seperate as we cut them off. Just an idea.

Primarch,

They are a pair of cutters that has a "soft" close. No "snap" that often breaks small parts on the sprew tree. Here is a link to Testers site, but I am sure any good Model and Hobby shop will have these.

http://www.testors.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=1172

I use it for epic plastic as well as other models.

Yeah, what the hell is a spruce snipper? :p
I actually don't find snipping to be all that big a deal. Sure it is a little tiresome, carpeltunnel syndrome is a pain and the occasional accidental snipping off your finger tip is no picnic but just think of the pleasure of seeing your mighty forces assembled and on display. *sigh* Bliss.  :p

You see. I have no slaves yet. My cats really need opposable thumbs.  :p
