To throw another PoV in here it doesn't help matters when someone is posting feedback/results only to be flat out ignored. Recently my eyes were drawn back to the adeptus ministorum thread only to see my own triple sometimes quadruple posts with no feedback from the list dev, quite sad really. I'll admit I did start out fairly new to the forum and may not have had the greatest feedback or style with batreps but I did have enthusiasm for the list. That certainly waned over time thanks to the one way feedback.

That said I am keen to do battle reports for other lists, I have 2 that just need typed and 2 I could try to piece together so my enthusiasm wasn't entirely trampled, I just need some free time without distraction to work on them.

The NetERC has a more formalized structure now so I would think that if a list developer were actually ignoring you that you should contact the Army Champ (unless of course the developer is the Army Champ in which case contact a member of the ERC). A lot of times ignoring a post is really the politic way of disagreeing silently. I will also say it results in bad just as often as if you got into an argument. So, Captain, elevate the problem.

This is the internet, I thought finding people to argue & disagree with was meant to be easy. Joking aside, when the community is so small, stepping on the toes of others is felt more keenly. Specifically with the Ministorum list, I'm sure anyone taking it on would have one hell of a job getting a player base together.

I will say that the biggest problems for ACs are a lack of motivation (me being one I can admit that) and a lack of time.

For me it's been mostly a lack of motivation.

I agree the the NetEA team can do better, however I also say that the community can be doing more. The closest supplement to being done is the Epic: Xenos supplement and that has three armies. Most of the players out there can easily field an Ordo Xenos army (it's Space Marines and Imperial Guard) and give feedback on it. How many playtests have their been? How much feedback has Dwarf Supreme gotten?

Hardly any. I recently told Moscovian that I feel like I'm AC for an army nobody plays. Want to see more activity on my part? Play the list and give me feedback!

I have motivation problems myself, but the biggest stumbling block I have is lack of feedback. There's plenty of will to discuss changes, but everything goes silent when you ask for playtesting. I can only do so much myself, particularly with my gaming group moving away from GW of any sort as it has.

I think some of us are isolated and don't get a chance to play. Personally before recently I didn't play for a year and a half then found an Epic community while I'm in Brisbane for the next D6 months, but there are mostly new players so it's a bit early to test anything, though I'd like to do report some in a bit.

It's a shame Vassal or similar didn't take off, as that could have helped us play more.

I just posted asking him that. If you're interested in it tell him you're keen, maybe it'll encourage him.

It was ready to test but no-one offered to game with him when he asked for playtesters.

That's some sweet irony in the context of this discussion...

Oh FFS, what's wrong with people? All you champions complaining about not being able to get feedback should be ashamed of yourself for not helping out with this to facilitate online play.

I would have, but I haven't had a computer for a year and a half while I've been travelling.

I can very likely borrow the laptop off the family I'm currently staying with, they rarely use it. Could you tell Zombo I should be free to test it any evening (except Wednesdays) Australian time, GMT +10. I'd want to pre-arrange a time but am flexible with when. If he's still willing to work on it (crosses fingers).

As a relative newcomer to the boards*, I've never been able to find a clear list of who's what, or – perhaps more importantly – what all the acryonyms and forum jargon mean.

I started this thread about forum jargon, but it never really took off. It'd be nice if one of 'the management' could just write a nice simple glossary for people.

Honestly, after three years I still don't really know what the ERC is, what it does, or who composes it. I'm not being obtuse or deliberately ignorant, but if this info isn't somewhere obvious, people are just going to ignore it. It's off-putting to new members and initimidating to people who want to use the forum to discuss Epic. :sos

That has a knock-on effect of people coming into the forum to use the info, but not wanting to contribute.

Anyway, off my soapbox and back on-topic

Exactly which lists require the most urgent playtesting at this moment in time?

Yes, please – while I sympathise with the Army Champions, I'd prefer a 'please playtest this list' – with specifics – than reasons why it hasn't been done in the past. :)

*Blimey, it's actually been three years.

Advance apologies for the double post.

If you are disappointed with the waning efforts, I ask that you consider what I've said and throw some effort into playing those three factions more.

What are the three factions you're talking about? Tyranids, a mix of marines and guard and something else, from context; but what are the lists called, and where can they be found? What and where is the info on Epic: Xenos?
Please let me know (or provide a link to) where this information can be found, and my group can help.

Along these lines I find this exact post from a relatively low post count, albeit not exactly new, forum member to be sad and should be a wake up call for all of us to make things clear and engaging if we want to grow and maintain EA/NetEpic here.

While it all seems clear to people that've been here for a whiles we're obviously failing in some respects.
