Quote (Legion 4 @ 11 2003 Oct.,15:28) | Swordwind T/S !? ?Do Tell !? ? ? ? | Swordwind is the working title for the Eldar Release. The studio army will be Biel - tan and thus I assume the rules and campaign background will be based on that craftworld.
Thats all I know. Honest.

Hi!
Thats one thing I like on how the plan the releases. Like in the old SM days there will be books for the armies, I think that's pretty positive.
Of course it remains to be seen the system will generate enough sales to warrant firther books, but thats another thread...

Tuff, do you know if Swordwind will be like the older SM2 realeases, with the book and models all in the same box? Or will it be an off the shelf suppliment like a Codex, and the models seperate?
Unless they plan on doing like an army box set?
Cheers
Chris

Chris | Minor point: The SM2 releases had no miniatures, Just the books & the army cards.
Real answer: "I Know nothing...." The last I heard on that front was that the plan was to do a seperate book with the fluff & new army list(s) seperate from any miniatures. I guess the final call is really down to the marketing bean-counters though & wont be made until nearer the time.
Sorry for a useless & highly blagged answer (I should be a politician... *Shudder*).

PG has returned to be a moderator, as it seems even tho there were many people unsatisfied with the way PG operated, there was no-one interested in being a mod.
Fortunately, PG is quite a reasonable person. I really don't see him abusing his powers. On friday I have reported to him the case of "Cameronp", a person who tried to post stats for the Deceiver C'tan in 40k statline format, and after being... reminded... by me what the EA forum is about started sort of flame war against me, calling me d**k and m**********r, as well as calling the thread about Necron list "useless", probably just because I have told him that his post was, at least for Epic players, useless. Well, PG dealt with the problem quite efficiently. He did not forget also to remind me about that I should not start excanging insults with people like cameronp and just report to the mod on the very moment I spot such behaviour. He was absolutely right, I think.

On the release question earlier:
Feb is the current target. Rulebook (card templates in the back) 8 boxed sets, presumably 5 titans (3 imperial, 2 ork) and 3 infantry (1 per army) ~20 blisters
I rather expected a "starter army" box for each, and that may be the case, rather than my above speculation.
Future releases are targetted for every 6 months, and the most recent order Jervis posted was Eldar, Nids, Chaos. Originally, nids were moved up to coincide with some 40K release for next summer. No word from Jervis on whether this new order was a typo, a shortening of the time frame (2 releases in 6 months), or that the piggy-back promotion idea is defunct.
No word as far as the order for the future forces, but it'll be about 2 years at best. I would suspect, though that if a new race is released for 40K as rumor has it, that the Epic line for that race would be moved up to take advantage of it.

Well - I can confirm that five of the boxed sets will be - Space marines (unknown composition, expect tact and dev), Ork big warband (confirmed), IG tank company (confirmed), IG arty company (confirmed), IG inf company (expected, probably mobile inf)

Another one of the boxed sets will be a re-release of the Mk3 Warlord titan, and I think one is of the standard Gargant. I found this out at GD, the fanatic stand had a video playing on them. But this still leaves one boxed set...perhaps the Great Gargant?
However I hope to have some by the time Epic:A comes out, so I will be getting at least one of every Imperial boxed set and blister!
Cheers
Chris

PG isn't a bad guy (I rather like him), but I don't know if he was the person to lead the creme and whey at the official playtest boards.
There was a time when I was willing to do it, but I don't I want to bother anymore. Those boards are less exciting without Dafrca. Last time I checked, Dafrca's wife is doing well with their new baby.
I'm not surprised that PG has resumed the moderatorship. That's a no-win job. I admire the class moves he made. Good for him.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
IMO, the so called playtest boards aren't of that much imporatnce as they were during development, so expect the usual trolls and childishness common on other GW boards. I think you can get a more satifying conversation on these boards anyway.

Hi!
I like the way they are releasing the minis in theme based box sets, it makes for easier completion of armies. I hope they can reach armies like chaos with this type or release.
