The way the Epic UK list is written allows Terminators to take 4 Lands Raiders Crusaders if they want (I’ve been thinking of doing this for an upcoming tournament maybe).

It’s no different from the Net-EA Codex Astartes list allowing Devestators to take up to 4 Land Raiders. Think of the extra empty ones as added tanks for firepower as well as just transport. Nothing in the space marine transport rules prevents that either, you’re wrong on that.

I guess you’re right about the wording preventing mixing the two types of Land Raider in the same formation. I hadn’t noticed that. I doubt I’d ever choose to mix the two tactically though, so it’s no biggie.

My bad - I meant to disagree with you saying being able to take more Land Raiders over and above those needed to transport 'was not intended'. I think that was clearly intentional in the waty it has been worded and you should view the extra ones as tanks not just pure transport vehicles.

Still it doesn't really matter that much what the original intent of that was. That has been the way the SM lists are for decades and it isn't going to change so it's a bit of moot discussion.

edited to add: the Epic UK Black Templars list should have the option to take 4 Land Raiders or Land Raider Crusaders as a formation. Seems to be missing the latter option for some reason?
