I made my first building from the AT sprues today and I'm pretty happy with it :) I envisage it as a big Adminastratum building for the area for the governer and his bureaucrats. I still need to glue the sub-assemblies together and plan to strengthen the inside with some plasticard plus I'm going to convert a balcony all round the top floor for the governer to look out over the city. I really like the AT building set, I think it's one of my favourite GW kits.

I don't think it's big enough as I want though... I might make it 1/3 taller again but I need to wait till I buy another Civitas city set.

I'm also working on a giant Crematorium, a triumphal arch, gothic city walls and a massive crazy building project I'm calling 'The Ultima'.

Looks great, size wise i think it is fine and looks pretty well in scale with the minature stand on the buildings roof,

It is fine balance regarding large buildings in 6mm scale, If you make them to large they just do not blend in with other companys buildings models, which i think variety is the best on a gaming table imo. :)

i think that building is just about right. Good idea on crafting a balcony. I've seen people takign the small round slotta bases, cutting them in half and mounting them upside down on the AT18 building blocks. They are amazingly a great fit. Might make for an additional extra visual ummph if added on a lower level.

Yeah I plan to use a mix of different company's buildings. I might cut the middle out of a 50mm round base for an all round balcony.

I upgraded it to 28 stories tall :) Do any of you house rule large buildings to be able to hold more than one stand per bit of table area?

WIP Crematorium - my first building isn't that gothic so I thought I should make something with MORE SKULLS. Imagine a second identical tower on the left side of the building and both will have bells in.

Early WIP of my Plasma Genatorium too. Can you recognise what it's inspired by?

TTCombat - https://ttcombat.com/.../products/sector-3-sphere-silo

I'm aiming to have it look reminiscent on this old Titan Legions Genatorium building, only with gaps between the arches in the outer walls so the reactor inside can be seen.

For some reason your link is off. [shrgs]

Great kit. Glad it's working for you. This board is going to be fantastic when you get it completed

Yeah it should look good when it's done :) I'm getting quite inspired making various buildings. I'll make a big load of them and then start painting.

I was wondering how to model gothic cranes to unload the cargo containers off the ship I plan to model on the harbour tiles. I was thinking to somehow model ones like on the Calth board:

It just occurred to me that's a 30k crane though and by 40k things have got a lot more OTT gothic. I might convert one of these onto the end of a model crane kit instead (replacing the overly large hook with a magnetic clamp):

You might get some traction either those mechanicum tractors from the necro/40k scenery?
