Finally started my Tau Towers, the first step of my Tau City that I've been thinking about for years. And one that probably take years to complete.

I'm still not sure about the small buttresses on the hex bunker, hence missing from the taller tower. I think I may add these, but on alternative walls.

Nice work, a whole Tau city board would be impressive

I think the buttresses give it a more Imperial feel - just my two cents

Looking forward to seeing this project progress

Yeah, I agree with that. I was planning to paint Tau circles on each, but would look OTT.

Also they were supposed to be extended out a little, but I got lazy. It's a feature I've seen on some other circular Tau bunkers and Gun Towers. However with a Hex shape, it felt odd not having it in each corner or evenly spaced out.

Not a fan of transfers as they tend to dry and peel, but thanks for the offer.

I need to take more photos for the website side of things rather than bloging. Thanks 8)

That should not be happening!

Make sure that you apply gloss varnish to that area of the model first.
When that's thoroughly dry, add some Micro Set to the area, while the transfer is in the water.
Slide the transfer onto the surface and get it in the right position.
After most of the liquid has evaporated, use a damp tissue to press the transfer down on the edges.
When that's thoroughly dry, varnish over the transfer with whatever varnish you're using on the rest of the model.

So I havent used transfers for years, but I guess that's where I went wrong :-[ Although I don't use varnish after I finish my models! Thinking I should now.

Thanks for the info and nice models.

Four posts relating to the picture below. Using a scribe to make the lines/indent.

https://lexcore.weebly.com/home/scribe
https://lexcore.weebly.com/home/towers
https://lexcore.weebly.com/home/sweet-sucess
https://lexcore.weebly.com/home/three-variants

Hopefully back trying to finish these towers off... Just can't do circles yet with the scribe, but possibly not something I'll get the hang of for this project.

So any thoughts on how a Tau door would look like? without having any circular lines?

I went with curved doors, but sized it to the height of my Battlesuits. Makes the towers look small now :(

Think I need to carve Tau soldier sized doors into them too.

Hopefully more Tau-like buttress? (seems pointless, but its more decoration).

Nice terrain! Although I tend to agree it does not give off that Tau vibe.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Tau unfortunately has a lot of curves and rounded domes, not something that I can do :(
