It's been a while since I last posted but I've managed to finally get some modelling done. I've made another 3 ruined buildings totalling 8. I still want to make a bunch more so I need to find me a supplier of MDF bases. I can't for the life of me remember who I got make them previously but it was a seller on eBay quite some time ago.

I might put up a pic showing all my buildngs for epic as I have some rare Forge World bits too.

I really dig all the architectural doodads you have added to the interiors

Evergreen polystyrene structural shapes are great for epic. The scale is small enough that you don’t need to fool with bolt heads, and the GW building models don’t have too many ridiculously out-of-scale components.

These look great.

Have you thought of using styrene stripes that match the height of the bricks in the E40k ruins and cutting them up to match the brick's length? I was thinking of doing this to create the rubble piles that you used gravel for, to emulate a pile of bricks. Not sure if it would look like a pile of bricks or just a pile of weird flock.

Dave, I do a similar process on my bases, albeit at a small strips as I'm trying to model something that appears to be a standard brick size, but it totally works. In theory it should scale up to something representing larger blocks like on the buildings. Good idea!

Thanks for the positive comments, guys. I've quite enjoyed making these so far but think I need a few more at least.

Jimmy - I love adding the 'architectural doodads'. There's part of me that really wants to make the buildings as realistic as possible but reckon the secenery would be less useable for bases of troops. To me at least, I feel like I've got the balance of ruined building character with not too much rubble and stuff that you can't actually fit stands of infantry in there. To me they're almost caricature like.

Dave - I personally think that using bricks like you suggest would look odd unless they were blended in to rubble piles with sand or something similar. They would appear too neat which is the exact opposite of what a ruin would look like. I think I'll try it on the next piece that I do and then maybe people can give me feedback.

Very nice work with the modelling, looks forward to seeing what they look like once painted.

Looks very good. I would be interested to know where you got the bases from when you find out

Another question, where'd those resin sand bag positions come from?

Dave if you do an order it might make sense to batch up with some of us in the US to amortize the international s&h?

I'd be interested as well. Had my eye on those for some time but never felt the order would be large enough to justify the S&H.

Great work on the destroyed building, looks awesome and look forward to seeing it painted.

Folks from stateside looking for sandbags etc may want to look at perfect six scenery, battlefield scenery as they do metal sandbag sets along with jerry/fuel cans, ammo crates, oil barrels and lots of other awesome stuff to flesh your custom tabletop scenery out with. Makes a big difference to the finished result imo having all those extra little bits ;)
