Actually, since this is planned as part of the Industrial range, I wasn't planning on adding any skulls at all - I figure that Epic players can easily grimdark it up a little, and the piece still remains useful for people who want to use it in games of Battletech or Dropzone Commander, etc.

Particularly with larger models that are more of an investment to produce, I think it makes sense to try and make them useful for as many gamers as possible.

This next one is small enough that it's more of an accent than something with an in-game effect, but I figure it's pretty much a requirement when talking about "refinery terrain". Tell me what you think!

The top part is a separate piece, so you can put it together at whatever position you want. It would bug me if I had more than one on the table and they were all at the same angle ;D

Thanks guys!

Normally I wouldn't show this next one until it was farther along, but the finished piece will rely on a little bit of hand-sculpting to finish it off and I'm more interested in hearing what people are looking for in the basic shape.

So, defensive walls - the overall dimensions are broadly similar to the old FW ones, but with the addition of the elevated firing step which makes the piece a fair bit taller and deeper. The rubble slope at the front is a super-rough mockup just to show where it will go; it's much easier to do something like that by hand than try to sculpt and print "digital rocks". And why try and sculpt bullet holes and damage when you can just drill some?

The firing step is 15mm front to back, so it should hold both square and rectangular bases (the square ones will overhang the stairs a little, but they should stand up just fine).

So, do you have any opinions about the size or shape? If you've played with the FW walls, what did you like/dislike about them? Anything you'd change?

(And while I'm just working out the basics right now, once I get that nailed down I have plans for related corners, turrets, bunkers, tank emplacements, etc)

Lovely looking blast furnace there (though technically it makes iron which is turned to steel in another plant using the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking process).
As you said, the pipes coming off the top and diagonally down collect the waste gas which is then cleaned and reused.
I used to work as an engineer on an integrated steel works ;)

I have a hard on for the oil pumps. Those are very cool. Perfect for my desert table!

And. irrigation ditches would be sweet too, please?

And. I would love 2 oil pumpy thingys printed in 20mm for my Force on Force. Maybe 3. Then I can dip it in LN2 and smash one!

The defense wall has too many other options widely available. Personally I loaded up on those from Europe. Now a trench system would be very interesting.

Just a quick update:

The oil pumps, gas tanks, parts for the flak tower and two varieties of shipping containers are off to the printer! It will take a little while for all of that to be finished and shipped back for molding, but if everything goes well the new stuff should be rolling out sometime around the end of the month.

Also in there are a few little "building bits" in a larger scale - they're mostly for a personal project, but since I'm going to be casting them anyway I might as well put them up for sale and see if anyone else is interested...

Hey Mattie: I have a bunch of the FW walls myself, but I figured it would be a good addition for newer players who were looking for a good source for a variety of terrain. I remember seeing some forumware trenches a little while back which I figured all the old-school guys would have loaded up on...are you looking for something like those?

Cheers,
-Chris

Blip - very nice! I especially like the battle damage!

I'm happy to report that the order from the printer arrived last week, and I've been busy cleaning parts and pouring molds. The master molds for most of the new stuff are finished, and in the last couple days I've started casting parts for larger production molds. Shiny new stuff should be arriving in the store very soon!

Unfortunately it looks like the shipping containers (while they came out very nicely) were a bit mis-scaled for Epic - they should work quite well for 10mm games such as Dropzone Commander, but next to 6mm figures they're just too large. It's a little tricky to visualize exactly how something will look before it's printed, even with the render and the physical dimensions and in this case I got it wrong. The redesign is already complete so I should be able to correct this fairly quickly and make up for lost time. The good news is that I now know that all the little details turn out properly when printed and (IMHO) they're looking pretty good. Pics to follow shortly...

Lastly, here's an experiment I've been tinkering with today (still WiP, obv). Let me start by saying that I have no idea if I can print this is a cost-effective manner, but it looks weird and I want some ;D

Here is my attempt to answer the age-old question, "What if bismuth was evil?" or possibly "What if digital camo was 3-D and also a robot?"

(Hey Legion4, is that alien enough for ya? :P )

The "base" area is a Medium Building footprint, as usual. Right now it stands about 70mm tall.

One advantage is that this should be fairly scale-agnostic. It will look equally weird next to tiny robots and also slightly less tiny robots!
