I'm looking at a different material as a possible substitute, however the assembled thickness would be 2mm. Is this something people wouldn't be bothered about or would you prefer to stick with the 1.6mm thick base? Also, are there any other shapes that you would like to see?
From an aesthetic point of view, I prefer thinner bases in general. If you're trying to offer replacement or compatible bases to other, now unavailable pieces, then I'd suggest not switching to 2mm, otherwise the difference of less than half a mil isn't likely to be a major thorn unless it was in the middle of someone basing an army. For shapes - well if you can do ovals and hexes, I have a couple armies that'll take a hundred or so of each. (Seriously, finding someone who will actually reply to contact emails about getting hex bases cut has proven an apparent impossibility)
Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.
I'm currently trying other materials to keep the thickness of the base as close to the original as possible.
I can design and cut any size or shape of base that is required to be honest. The bases can either be plain, standard bases without holes or the two part bases with the top layer having the locating holes cut out which is then glued to a plain base.
