Listed are several new units (eg Terminus Pattern Land Raider rumoured tohave lots of Lascannons) for Wh40k's Apocalypse rules set.

Maybe the Terminus Land Raider forgoes its transport capacity to carry an anti-superheavy weapon.

I feel with the release of the baneblade I will be buying my first 40k model in almost 15 years!

Er - why does the Chaos Spawn horde cost $0.00 - sounds good, eh? :)

And - Apocalypse is meant to replace Epic, right? Using 28mm scale instead of 6mm.....

Yes it is very convient.

I think we should change the scale back down to 6mm but use the superior 40k simplified rules from apocalypse.

There are some fantastic typoes in that list; I almost think that someone has photoshopped it just for a laugh!  To whit: $112 for a frakkin tapemeasure!!??!?!?11

...Actually, it is GW we're talking about, so it might turn out to be accurate... :;): :p

Seriously, I have mixed feelings about Apocalypse.  Part of me is laughing at all these 40k players getting excited about being able to play games with *gasp!* bigger armies! Warmachines!  :O

Well, they should be playing Epic - we've had all that for nearly 20 years! :D  If I've said it a dozen times before, I'll say it a dozen times more...

On the other hands, there are some exciting things about it, which I think could translate back in to Epic; e.g. one rumour has a rule whereby a formation of Land Speeders can 'scout-out' and mark an enemy detatchment for a Whirlwind formation to accurately bombard.

Also, new units is always exciting, and bound to inspire all the gifted modellers and imaginitive rules-bods in the Epic community.  So in the end, I'll be looking forward to Apocalypse with great interest.

And yes, I will be buying a Baneblade (when I can afford it!)

I don't think that Apocalypse will be the replacement for Epic. It can't be because Apocalypse is battles on company level. Thats roughly 2-3 formations in Epic.
Epic is still bigger :D

There's some interesting things in there for Epic army list development - Emperor's Fist tank company (space marines?)
Space Marine Suppresion force
Space Marine Linebreaker squadron
Eldar Cloudstrike squadron
Emperor's Wrath artillery company
Tau Armoured Interdiction Force
Tau Rapid Insertion Force

Can't wait to get more detail on these...
Regards,
Reaver

I think these are going to be specific army/formation sets that you can buy:

- Emperor's fist tank company sounds like a box of 6 or so Leman Russ tanks
- Space Marine Line breaker squadron will probably be Predator tanks plus supporting Assault infantry
- and so on & so forth.

At the end of the day, it strikes me as a ploy to get people to buy big expensive box-sets with lots of models in.  Such as the Space Marine Battle Company (100 marines, 9 tanks).

$72 for "Big gun dice"  ???  :confuse:
That'll be D6 then...

SM suppression force $90 can't see it being just a razorback and 6 devs when the Razorback squad is $45.

So instead of playing massive battles in the 41st millennium in 6mm you can to do so with ridiculously overpriced 28mm+ miniatures?  What a deal...

Anyone catch the price of Commander Dante and Mephiston.  $30?  Even if that's a typo and it was supposed to be $20 that's still asinine.
