I just think about it : why do Saim-Hann Shinning Spears Warhost cost 300pts ? The Saim-Hann limitation is very same : no Aspect mixing possibility and number limited by Wild Riders Warhost (1 per 1, ok, not like 1 per 2 of the Iybraesil Dire Avenger Warhost), and Saim-Hann Shinning Spears are also limited by the Strategy Rating 3.
Well, for the same reason I think 300pts is the right cost for the Saim-Hann Shinning Spears Warhost, 300pts is the right cost for a Iybraesil Dire Avenger Warhost.
All things equal, a same army choose in Alaitoc (ok, bad exemple because there is no Aspect Warhost in Alaitoc army), Biel-Tan or Iybraesil should cost the same.
I disagree, but this is an early experimental list and you may be right.
However, it's hard to argue that Dire Avengers are as effective as Shining Spears. SS are (IMO) far more versatile and effective on the battlefield.
There was a discussion a while back about universal points costs for troops in different lists. Some felt that the same type of troop should be costed the same no matter what list they are in.
Myself, Chroma, and a few others disagree. We feel that to properly cost a formation in a list you have to look at its worth to the army it is in. Some formations perform better than others in different armies.
Personally I'd like to see us get away from "blanket, standardized points-cost" formations.
