I think if Hena wants to develop his own list, let him.
Agree. I think anyone should feel free to design lists, play them, go crazy, have fun.
My comment was in regard to the intent. If Hena is unhappy with the current version of the list, no problem. If he wants to design his own list and play it. More power to him. If he wants to post battle reports using his list and commenters want to know what list he used, he has every right to state, "it is a list of my own that my group is play testing". All of that is great, as we have discovered, you never know where the next great idea will come from.
I don't want to assume intent, but by posting here, the message I am receiving is, "this is what I'm going to do".
Earlier, one of the community had been testing a version of the Tau that, although producing interesting results, was not in the general direction that we were moving the community list. They asked if it was Ok to post their test results, which I was fine with, but I was clear that we would not be taking the list in that direction. I respect that person for asking, not because it gave me authority, but because they were more concerned about the effect it would have on the overall effort. Quite in character, they were more concerned about the Greater Good.
Unfortunately, the Tau community hasn't been very united in it's efforts for quite awhile. There are strong opinions about what the list "ought" to look like...and there is nothing wrong with that. But there is also an unwillingness to yield on design issues in order to make progress. That has held the list back for many years. Those strong feelings tend to be more oriented on the individual than the whole.
However, this effort is not about any one individual. It's not about "my" list vs. "your" list. It is about a group effort to produce a product to benefit the community at large.
Branching off at this time, is premature and I'll just leave it at that.
