Ok,

Here is the latest and greatest. I went through the "technical edits" thread, as well as a few others.

I will leave this thread open for the period of one week to give everyone a chance to catch any boo-boo's (technical editing term). At that point, we'll close the thread down and put in anything we missed. Short of mispellings, what changes you see are intended.

AT THAT TIME, THE LIST WILL BE FROZEN FOR PLAYTEST. I'LL ALSO JUST STATE THIS UPFRONT SO THAT SOMEONE DOESN'T GET OVERLY ENERGIZED, BUT WE WILL NOT MAKE ANY DESIGN CHANGES DURING THIS PERIOD. SO PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND US THE SPACE AND REFRAIN FROM MAKING THOSE COMMENTS.

As we say in Texas, "Dance with who you brought". This will be your date for the next few months. Once we get the Final Final version settled, I will layout the course ahead.

And, just so that I can be the first, I noticed that we did not get the "plasma blasters" thing corrected in the entry for Crisis suits.  :cool:

So chalk one up for me.

Technical Edits:

Scorpionfish have "drones" listed as an upgrade, but no such upgrade exists.
The "Supreme Commander" upgrade doesn't actually grant the supreme commander ability to a scorpionfish.
Gun drone squad speed 25 - should this be 20 like the other jet pack units?
Scorpionfish critical - "any units within 5cm of the model suffer a single AP6+/AT6+ hit." should be "any units within 5cm of the model suffer a single AP6+/AT6+ attack."
Hero and Custodian still say they can carry Morays.

Just a note that - for me - this is not an technical edit, but a conscious decision. The Scorpionfish Commander upgrade did not get the initiative reroll, mainly because the wording on the stat table would have been complicated, but also as I didnt know if the upgrade was required for the Scorpionfish.

And I was sure that I caught the Drone speed... It was mentioned between Honda and I!  :_(

Ok, if the reroll isn't wanted on the scorpionfish, it's pretty misleading to allow it an upgrade called "supreme commander".

What is the big deal about just using the normal Supreme Commander rule for the Tau?  Why all the convolutions to avoid it?

Can I ask why tigershark Ion cannons are shorter ranged than missile pods? Ground-based Missile pods are shorter ranged than the ground based Ion....

Sigh... still no adjustment to the Crisis MW FF - is this an oversight error?

Gun drone speed used to be 30cm.
Deduct 5cm for the new Tau Jumpack rule and the correct speed is 25 (as it is now).
No need to reduce it further.

Hero and Custodian still say they can carry Morays.

For some of us, they still will carry Morays...  :whistle:  :tongue:

Technically, the Scorpionfish Support Group can't even take the "Supreme Commander" upgrade as it's not listed in the upgrades allowed for the formation.

To the Scorpionfish critical effect: Criticals aren't usually written as "AP/AT" attacks, so it should be re-written as: "The Scorpionfish is destroyed, and any units within 5cm of the model suffer a single hit on a 6+"

Addtitionally, is there any way to get the Scorpionfish datasheet to fit in the previous page instead of sitting on its own page when there's a big chunk of white space on that previous page?

In which case it needs to be added and renamed (to "command control" or something), or the scorpionfish stuff should be removed from the upgrade.

Formations list Section:
Scorpfish has 'Drones' upgrade and not Supreme Commander.

Can we change the 'Networked Drones' upgrade name to 'Command and Control Node' (to prevent confusion about Expendable drones)?



Unit stats Section:
As mentioned, Crisis suits still have the 'Plasma Blasters'.  Also, was it intentional to leave the Missile Pods at 45cm?

FW got AP4+ Pulse Rifles, OK, but didn't change weapon name (remaining comments in Section 6).

Gun Drones are not Expendable, while all the section 6 drones *are*.

Stingray needs a better fluff section... lemme get back to you for a revision.

Scorpfish is a Skimmer, no Always-Popped-Up note.

Tigersharks got fixed, good.

Manta got fixed, good.



Section 6 comments:
Robotic Sentry is the old 'setup-anywhere' version, not the revised, 'your-half-of-the-board' version.

Alternative HHead weapons doesn't have the right Missile Pod stats (should be AP5+/AT6+).

Human Aux have different weapon stats than Fire Warriors now.  I suggest changing the Fire Warrior weapon name to 'Multiple Pulse Rifles'. (this also allows us to use the IG autocannon rule for Pulse Rifles for human aux, and leave them at AP5+)

Moray is a little weird.  I thought the change was going to be with the same TK railguns and Ion Phalanx as the Manta, just no transport capacity.  Fluff section still has the old either/or weapons, not the current arrangement.

You're right, I must be tired of working on that stupid leadership paper...

It was supposed to be an AC130 kind of craft, so Support Craft fits better... Not that it actually needs to be popped up for LoS, but I'd prefer it to be APU if I was on the receiving end.
