Hey all,

A quick overview on the AdMech lists as of the beginning of May:

AMTL:
We are well underway to submit for approved status here pretty soon. I have 6 reports from two groups and 5 from Bristol. We also have 6 reports from 3.18 using lists that likely wouldn't seen a huge change using 3.22. After checking with the powers, to get us over the hump, we need a couple of extra reports more to fill in the gaps. If anyone can get in two reports that would give us what we need to ready for submission.

Since we have a couple of changes still in the playtest thread for 3.23 final, take a look there and if you have any concerns or questions, now is the time to bring them up.

Skitarii:
This list has been on the back burner lately, but with testing for AMTL approved coming to a close, there are a few things to check over before we look to finalize the skitarii list. I don't know we can pull off that this year given the overall interest, but this is the next list for us to concentrate on. Mostly we need to focus on the oridinatus and big mobile skitarii formations using chimedons.

Cataphractii:
Also back burner, but if anyone has had a chance to give it a go in the experimental state, I'd love to hear about it. I haven't had opportunity to do so myself so this list is still very much in the early stages of experimental.

If I wasn't in the process of selling my house and moving over the next month I'd knock those two reports out for you. Good news is I'll be in position to help with the Skitaari list once we start working on that as I'm moving closer to a few buddies who are into E:A.

I have a mostly written up TL battle report from a month or two ago. I really should dig the word document back up, finish it up and post it.

I may or may not play epic in a couple of days (depends how packing up for the move goes tomorrow), haven't decided what army to play, could do TL again, particularly if it would help it get approved. I guess you might already have 6 reports from Christchurch, NZ already though? Please clarify our numbers ASAP? (you don't say which groups you have the numbers for)

Sure, here's the primary ones:

Mordotan: 6 (not sure of location)
Kochi: 6 (Austria)
Bristol: 5

I've got a smattering here and there with I think one or two from you Glyn. I believe that tiny tim is getting one or two in today. We also have the six older ones from speaker. I don't think I've seen any from the NZ bunch though that could be what we need for submission.

Basically we just need a couple more to make up for the missing Bristol one.

Yes, since he's been ignoring most of our critique and suggestions over the list (see the discussion on the CLP and now the cataprathctii list) it would have been nice to see some actual battlereports from him to support his ideas.

Hopefully the community will be let in on the develoepment of the Skittari and Caraphractii lists. If not there must be a change in how the AdMech section is governed...

I've not been following anything on the Cataphracti list but Vaaish took on board various options and polled the community for what it preferred for the CLP. It seems a reasonable approach on it to me and the current CLP rules look good (I plan on trying them out next time I get a TL game in).

He's also listened and addressed at least some of the problematic areas in the list - forge knight cost, the ark cost, corvus skitiarii cost, ect.

You don't see any batreps from me because of the rules for the approval process. The reports have to come from groups outside of my own. Most of my games have been Skitarii the last year or so or specific to testing certain scenarios.

After our huge community discussion to hammer out the basics of the list (which my quick review of the thread seems to show most folks were on board with), I put it in the Experimental stickied thread and it's had no further development since then due to focusing on getting the AMTL approved and skitarii tested.

Are you sure that battle reports from your own group can't count? I don't ever remember seeing that mentioned.

Even if they wouldn't count they would still help you and others get a better understanding of the list and changes to it.

Pretty sure. IIRC the point was to get more groups than just the AC's to test the list so that a wider range of metagames would be included increasing the odds that the list would play fairly with all groups.

TBH, I'm still just one person. AMTL is a very stable list overall. We've made a few weapons tweaks and point adjustments but the list basically functions and plays about the same as it did under 3.18 several years ago. Skitarii is more my focus at the moment than either AMTL or Cataphractii and it's where most of my effort has gone into although even that's reaching the point that playtests outside my group are more beneficial :)

It would also have helped to show how AC approached games, and demonstrated that still actively playtesting. I don't remember seeing that AC's own playtest group had to be excluded- simply that it would have to be playtested by several groups, which I took to mean included AC's own group.

It would have helped us understand more some of the changes which I personally could n't always understand why were being pushed through. So please Vaaish share with us your batreps going forward- will give us all a clearer idea.

Thanks

James
