I think the current TL and AMTL are in a reasonable state but could be improved and some of the better ideas implemented by Epic-UK in their Titan Legion list adopted. Unfortunately I think Vaaish is going off in a bad direction with most of his recently suggested ideas and I want to throw in alternative suggestions about how the list could go. I was going to post this in that thread, but it got too long and would get confusing and distracting so I'm starting a separate thread.

My proposals for the future direction:

Titans generally should have the boosts in firepower along with a small increase in cost (and the removal of minimal cost titan selections). Less activations and DC to kill is a fair counterpoint to more powerful weapons. If you want a mixed force of Titans and other stuff the Skitiarii and Cataphractii lists can cater to that, but the Titan Legion list should strongly focus on Titans and other options should be stripped or minimised in the list (this being a distinct disadvantage of the list to counter-balance the titan advantages). The TL list should be balanced and possible to beat with a standard tournament list (not written to take on titans) by reducing the number of activations it can take. With more expensive titans the opposing player has less DC to take down and more of an activation advantage, so can hide early on and save activating important formations till after the TL player is out of activations. More activation advantage also increases the opportunities to get crossfire on the enemy titans, to help reduce their saves and take them down that way.

Change all the currently free battle titan weapon systems to cost 25 points. Then limit Reaver titans to only be able to take 0-1 scout titan weapon and Warlords to taking 0-2. Overall a lot would stay the same but it would reduce the possibility of taking cheap titans for activation numbers and/or all scout-weapons on a battle titan like some do in competitive lists.

IMO it wouldn't be a bad thing for the CLP to cost a little more than now (particularly as the power of the AML has gone up and the Quake Cannon combo is grumbled about by some).

Boost the power of the Laser Burner to make it a comparable option to other 25 weapons. Give it MW extra attacks or more regular attacks, whatever.

Remove Sentinels from the list, they're really an Imperial Guard unit that nothing in the background associates with the Ad-Mech or Titans. Though Sentinels are fragile they allow the AM player initial garrisons and to increase his activation numbers in the crucial early game stages. Instead of using 1-2 formations to wipe out Sentinels those formations could attack titans instead. Even if they can't hurt them in shooting they can put a blast marker or get in position to assault or help crossfire.

Change the way the Corvus Assault Pod works. At present it allows 0-1 discounted Skitiarii Demi-Century at 100 points (heavily discounted from the normal 250 to take into account not having a killy titan weapon). Many of my 3k TL lists would include 1-4 Corvus Assault Pods in order to boost activation numbers and take advantage of the discounted infantry (e.g. Take a look at this overpowered looking 3k list including an Imperator and 8 activations, none easy to kill ones like sentinels). The idea of the Corvus is that it's meant to be a transport for infantry, carrying them into battle safely. I'd virtually always deploy the infantry separately though – garrisoned forward, guarding the blitz, ect and then the Corvus becomes a gimick to get cheap infantry to boost activations rather than being used as a transport and this feels wrong / gamey. Solution: have the Corvus add Skitiarii infantry to the titan formation, not have them be a separate formation. They would work together in battle and the infantry would guard the titan (counter attacking out when attacked by teleporting Terminators and taking the MW hits) and can be deployed to take a nearby building or suchlike. WEs can be 5 x their DC away from other units in their formation and still be in coherency, so a Reaver could be 30cm away and a Warlord 40cm, there would be some flexibility (though further away increases opportunities for crossfire). Feral Ork Orkerosauruses are attached to infantry formations and that works fine there.

Also (and please consider this separately to the previous idea) I think we're representing the Corvus too large. The old Corvus wasn't that big and if you imagine the size an inscale pod would have to be to carry 50 on a truescale titan it would be huge, probably in the region of twice the volume and weight of the other truescale Reaver army weapons. It would look stupidly big, heavy and lop-sided and put a lot of weight on the joint and side of the titan. I would rather see the Corvus transport in the region of 5-8 stands, if the infantry are being added to the formation it doesn't need to match the 10 strong Skitiarii formation.

If all formations that could garrison on overwatch are removed from the list as per the above then the Titan Legion list could do with some kind of overwatch at the start or it becomes overly vulnerable to start of game air assault or teleporters, before it has a chance to do anything due to it's low initiative. Solution: allow one single Warhound scout titan formation (single or pair) to start the game on overwatch (in the deployment zone, not garrisoned forward). Warhound scouts are described as being the “eyes and ears” of the titan legion having them function as such in the list would seem appropriate to me, plus it would encourage the use of a pair (as the background say Warhounds usually operate). Overwatching Warhound(s) would be powerful, but it would only be a single formation on overwatch unlike the two that many armies have on overwatch at the start.
